When did Watt quit on his team during a game? The Astros lowballed Correa likely knowing Peña was ready. Would you take less money knowing your worth more? Probably not
Suspend Watson until every case is resolved, if it takes 20 years oh well...the damage has been done, there is absolutely nothing Watson can do to repair his image, and at this point he is forcing the NFL's hand to end his career...he and he alone caused this mess, goodbye and good riddance...
Well that's good news for them, but they'll still owe everything they gave to the Texans to take that POS off their hands.
- Correa brought this city a 'chip. Astros were not willing to pay him what he wanted, not his fault he left. - Watt raised several hundred thousand dollars for hurricane relief and loves this city. Career wise, it was time for him to move on. The Texans failed JJ, he did not fail the Texans - Harden made demands and the Rockets complied with every single one of them for the entirety of his tenure here. He was unsatisfied with his own decisions then quit and wore fat suits until the team traded him. Watson is a scumbag. See the difference?
Yeah, I'm going to look past the racial undertones of the original post, but all those guys left under different circumstances. Not only did JJ do that, but JJ gave us ALL his prime All-Pro years, and then some. Harden AND Watson have earned EVERY bit of hate they've received. Especially Harden who IMMEDIATELY forced his way out of ANOTHER team (super team mind-you). I feel no shame in my sports hate for those 2.
I have to believe that Watson's agent/lawyers included some sort of language preventing that considering the allegations are akin to the existing 22. Are the Browns going to use the excuse "we accept 22 but won't accept 1or 2 more"
I don't think there's any way the Browns void his contract, unless he's somehow suspended for 2 seasons, or if he gets indicted (at this point, it's an almost certainty that he won't) They have no choice but to double down on this.... too much invested so far.
Florio is really reaching on this one. Has he read the contract? No, but that doesn't stop him from posting speculation not based on facts or reality to generate more negative press for Watson.
That would be stupid for the Browns, they give away 3 first round that cant take it back, and Florio says they will release him if he is suspended? and not paying him, I bet Watson still would play for another team, even if he is suspended for 8-10 games, even when he signed every knew he might be suspended, and I dont think Watson signed a contract, knowing that they could void it for any suspension.
From a football standpoint, it would be stupid.....but not everyone wants to be tied to the Harvey Weinstein of football. The picks are sunk cost, holding on to Watson could be even more costly in the long term for the damage it does to the image of the franchise.
I get that he was a big part of this franchise and I can just not come in this thread but can we please delete it mods? Creep isn't our problem anymore.
[Jenny Vrentas] Watson met at least 66 women over a 17-month period, far more than previously known. He had help from the Houston Texans, including nondisclosure agreements, in making appointments.
