I don't see how this is a "rumor." I think everyone knew this already. Nobody thought the Texans were suddenly going to trade for a star QB with a garbage roster.

The longer we sit him out the more his trade value tanks. No team is gonna give any asset for a guy sitting on the bench for 4 years.

Plus Imagine if he gets convicted, we get nothing.

Texans got bent over and made a btch by Watson bc of that ntc. But we sure "owned" Watson by sending him to a team that gave him the fattest contract in qb history.

Only positive is that we got something I guess. But knowing our sht franchise, we probably gonna whiff on drafting

I disagree. That’s part of negotiation. You can always say no or walk away. Watson can’t sit out another year. The Texans could afford to call his bluff or wait.

Now we know, for DeShaun this was all about ego and money from the beginning. He signed his extension in 2020, then had remorse because he thought he deserved to get what Mahomes was getting. After his great 2020 season he probably approached the front office about re-doing his deal, and they said no because he just signed the damn thing, then he said he will hold out in 2021, and the whole "they didn't consult with me about the new coach" bs was his excuse. This was essentially a contract re-negotiation for max dollars with a new team.

Nobody, nobody, voluntarily picks Cleveland.
