We want to make an example out of you because you've damaged the shield. We want to make an example out of you because you lied to Sue Robinson We want to make an example out of you because you're a liar. We want to make an example out of you because you're a sexual predator We want to make an example out of you because of the way you tried to game the system. We want to make an example of you because you're an arrogant POS.
Man, just when you think this is going away the proverbial s*** hits the fan. Roger is the commissioner, the idea that he will hand this off to one of his cronies and they will make there own decision is laughable at best, why the sham...optics? He needs to come out and tell it like it is, the judge did her job and found him guilty and even commented that her hands are tied as far as length of suspension, now Roger can step in and say its a year and the NFLPA will sue.........lets hope he plays this year for his measly 10 mil and is suspended the following year for 40+ million. Nick C got rid of this POS in the nick of time, I can chuckle from afar while watching our draft picks become part of the team.
No telling how he actually feels, but his lawyers have probably been coaching him to express no remorse publicly -- i.e. "I did nothing wrong," ad infinitum. I wonder if it may shift once the settlements are done. "I never meant to make anyone uncomfortable and truly assumed everyone was comfortable with all these interactions. But I'm sorry if that was not the case and I've learned from this whole ordeal... I will confirm my exact erotic intentions in writing before my massages." Yeah, not that last part. Anyway, the NFL saying "most egregious" is going to encounter some tough sledding. Video of a player dragging a woman from an elevator by her hair comes to mind, for one. Sheesh. EDIT: In terms of how he actually feels, the NFL may have gotten a clear picture when they interviewed him, I guess. Maybe that really ticked them off, if he didn't at least get it from a bad-for-business perspective and if he acted as if they were inconveniencing his greatness.
Inconveniencing his greatness is probably the real way Watson feels. I think you hit the nail on the head there. His only regret probably is that it hampered his ability to stalk and prey internet victims after the lawsuits started coming forth. Golddiggers and hookers just aren't as much fun. No shock and awe.
That will likely get shot down since it didn’t work for Zeke: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/nfl-files-appeal-of-deshaun-watson-disciplinary-ruling/
I actually hope it happens this way, so that Watson will be missing 1/2 of this season after the appeal, then Goodell tacks on a full season in 2024 when Watson will be making real money. Also this would help benefit the Texans draft picks. This would really be a win win situation for the Texans org. The only better thing that could happen would be for more women to make complaints during the 2024 season and Goodell keeping the indefinite suspension in affect until those cases were settled. This would likely mean that it would be 4 years since he played his last down of football. Maybe then he might be humbled a little bit. It's possible this could happen and it couldn't happen to a better guy.
Harvey was one of the advisers to the National Football League in the league's 2017 personal conduct investigation of Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott plus he also worked specifically on prosecuting sex crimes. Deshaun is done. Some more background from the firm's website:
Good! He can appeal and get an injunction and play this season but will only save him 10 mill but if he’s suspended next year it will cost him 40+ mill.
Remember how the NFL had to grovel back to black people in 2020 when George Floyd died after covering up for owners colluding to keep Kaepernick out the league. I can't stand Goodell's phony ass.
