Yep. He's a liar with no remorse. "I've never assaulted, I never disrespected, and I never harassed any woman in my life," Watson has said. "I don't have any regrets."
Don't the Texans own the Browns 2024 first round pick also? So in terms of draft picks, Texans will benefit if Watson's suspended this year or next year. Either way, I think Watson and co needs to start thinking about that incoming dough next year. Accept the full year suspension, but stipulate NFL will not add a big fine.
“We want to make an example of you because we ****ed up in our previous discipline cases” “We want to make an example of you because that’s what the mob demands” “We want to make an example of you because of public outcry” “We don’t want you to play and embarrass your old team”
I don’t care how bad or dumb or incompetent or what have you Goodell or the NFL look I want Watson to miss as many games as possible.
Exactly. It would be hilarious if he appeals and loses in court and by that time it’s half way through the season. So the NFL suspends him for the remainder of this year and half of next.
If there was no point of an independent judge then why even have one? Whether he is guilty or not the NFLPA has to fight this.
Let this drag out as much as possible...the NFL more than likely doesn't give a crap about all the allegations against Watson, they are probably pissed that Deshaun and his agent tried to pull a fast one by structuring the contract the way that they did.
This is all just so ****ing stupid. Now Roger Goodell is going to sweep in like a white knight and add a little more to the punishment so the NFL can say that they care, but it’s all smoke and mirrors. In the end, Watson still won’t miss the season, any fine he gets will be a drop in the bucket compared to the contract Cleveland gave him, and it will all be business as usual. Honestly, I don’t care that much because it is a business, I just hate how obviously phony they all are. It’s all about the optics and the PR. I don’t believe for even half a second that any of them truly give a ****.
The independent judge settled the facts, that Watson did in fact egregiously violate the NFL code of conduct multiple ways. Now that's settled, the NFL can bump up the punishment to a more acceptable level rather than accepting a slap on the wrist. The NFLPA and Watson might attempt to fight it, but they have no grounds in which to do so. The NFL handled this in line with the CBA so that's pretty much the end of that.
Which certainly LOOKS better, but does anyone honestly believe whoever he gives it to will be someone who will give an end result that Goodell didn't already want? HE is the one making the appointment.
