In a perfect world, you trade him to the Jets for #4 and #10. NY fans won't care that Watson is a rapist and those two picks are about the best value for him you could possibly get. Also, he'll be in the largest market with an over abundance of women to rape. Should make everyone happy.

I’d think the Giants would be better fit

Oh I'd certainly take #5 and #7 as well....I'm just not sure the Giants are dumb enough to do that. The Jets on the other hand....

If DW gets all cases cleared and is scott-free then 2 top 10 picks is not nearly enough!
Price goes back to what it was before all this drama: four 1st rounders, three 2nd rounders and two additional players/assets!

Let's say the Texans traded Watson for Denver's first round picks in each of the next 3 seasons + Patrick Surtain (their 2021 first round pick). That would give the Texans the following:

    • At least 3 top 10 picks in the next 2 drafts (Texans 2022, Texans 2023, Broncos 2022)
    • Middle-of the first round picks in 2023 and 2024 from Denver
    • The Texans own first round pick in 2024
    • Surtain
That's 7 first-round talent additions to a team that will hopefully see further growth from Davis Mills.

This is all before discussing the huge amount of salary cap space the Texans have starting in 2023 (top 5 in the NFL in terms of space in 2023 and 2024).

Colin Cowherd said something today that I actually agreed with. The Giants have the bleakest future in the NFL as we speak. Desperation makes teams make rash decisions…like trading the 5th and 7th plus a few other picks. If I’m Caserio I’m calling both NY teams.

I watched a lot of Denver this year(old HS teammate plays there), 3 1sts and Surtain, who is going to be really good, would be a nice haul as well.

Wow, you talk about a bright future if Mills is the guy. (I think he is)

Any HC candidate would love to walk into a situation like this. I would even take #9, #40, Surtain and a 2023 1st for Watson.

Despite the fact that "JohnCPrepper" is clearly a burner account for someone in the Organization, he's worth a follow.

This commentary is spot on, we have NOTHING but speculation about what his actual issues are/were. I know Andre said this, and his QB coach said that, but nothing concrete from him or someone with credibility in representing him. I agree with most everyone here that moving on from him is easily the best solution in all of this.

    https://www.si.com/nfl/2022/01/12/mailbag-brian-flores-firing-deshaun-watson-trade

From ryan (@ryloose): Is the idea of Watson to Miami dead?

(Breer): Ryan, the answer is no. Deshaun Watson’s desire to play for the Dolphins, as I’ve heard it, was bolstered by Brian Flores’s presence there. But that was hardly the only thing Miami had going for it—there’s also a good core group on the roster, cap flexibility to allow for guys to come with the quarterback, no state income tax and, yes, the simple fact that it’s South Florida (which helps in getting guys to want to join him).

Ultimately, I think it’s probably dangerous at this point to go off last year’s assumptions.

Last year, maybe he didn’t like the idea of going back (close to) home and joining the Panthers, but could the right offensive coordinator get him to come around? Does the year the Eagles just had under Nick Sirianni improve their standing in his mind? And the Broncos don’t even have a coach right now, which seems relevant.

In the end, if clarity comes on his legal situation, then I think there’ll be plenty of suitors for Watson, and my guess is that Watson would reassess where every team involved stands. And remember, he has a no-trade clause, which can help him steer the process.

From Kodiak (@Slicenger7): Would Bill O’Brien taking the OC job at Carolina strengthen the Panthers’ chances on getting Deshaun?

(Breer): Kodiak, that’s a fun question. O’Brien and Watson had a good relationship when O’Brien was fired in October 2020. So I certainly don’t think his presence in Carolina would be an impediment to Watson’s potentially going there. But what could be is the idea that the whole staff might be fighting for survival in ’22. Which is to say, yeah, I think a familiar face would help, but maybe not enough to overcome concern that wholesale change might be coming in a year’s time.

Like I said earlier, my guess is Watson will reset and look at the landscape for 2022 when figuring out where he might (or might not) invoke his no-trade clause.

Wish I can get excited about the team.. The haul of picks from a Watson trade + their own should make me interested... I just cant!.. My love and confidence in the team is gone and won't return IMHO... But I absolutely love draft talk so I'm here clicking the thread..lol

I would go after the Giants picks... They're idiots and desperate to make a splash... I like the Denver scenarios.. Something about acquiring the Jets picks makes me think busts.. lol

What makes you lose your love for the team?

Star level players should be added in this draft. Even more if Watson gets traded.

If Caserio hits on the draft and Watson trade picks, I can make a case the Texans will be better on the field without Watson than with him.

Carolina- I'll take this trade and eat Darnolds contract. But instead of the 2024 1st I want Chinn.

Denver - I'll take this trade, but I want Surtain instead of O and I might even throw in a the Texans 2023 3rd to make it happen. I see Surtain as a long time pro bowl CB1.

    NYG- I'll take the deal

    3 team deal- Pass

    Fair enough

BOB doesn't work on Kirby anymore.

Do you not like the last Caserio draft and are you not liking the upcoming draft. Or is this not about Caserio but a healthy dislike of all things Pats

Cal- Agreed, but there's nothing we as fans can do about this and being honest, the McNair's have been bad since the Texans inception. Nothing has really changed since Cal's taken over. Good thing is for the 1st time since their inception we know who's running the football operations side of things. If Caserio fails atleast Cal wont be able to blame it on the boardroom where nobody has to accept responsibility for the teams failure and this is a good thing.
