    No franchise operates on the "well, let's take less value so that if our current guy sucks, we salvage something of the deal" philosophy. It's a failure mentality. If you don't trust your current guy with draft picks, you probably should fire him.

    Yeah, I feel like this is pretty straight-forward. Trying to get this spread out over years isn't bad value, but it definitely will extend the timeline of this roster rebuild we're going through.

    So far, despite the criticism he's received, I think Nick has handled everything extremely well. Even down to the report that he paused the trade to try to get more in return, I'd be ok with that. Under no circumstances do you just let a guy of this talent go.
