Yes. How can I forget about that lol. This is probably the logical reason. Texans defense allows for long drives for the opposing offense.

    Yeah it’s not even close:
    402 pass attempts
    262 rushing attempts

I think there are two factors for having less attempts. Time of possession and the league has almost gone full air raid. The number of teams airing it out and the overall numbers are staggering.
This era is going to rewrite record books because of philosophy.

It shows how special Watson is though that he can accumilate so many yards with so little attempts. I mean he ad 300+ yards with practice squad receivers last game starting. I'm assuming his yards per attempt amongst starters is one of if not the highest.

Texans are 31st in the league at 26:53 in TOP.
    That’s terrible.
Most of it is defense and some is early struggles with 3 and outs.

    It’s the highest.
    Ridiculously high.
As a whole, the league is so far higher than normal years for YPA as well. 9 QBs with 8+ yards per attempt.
With league average being 7.5 or so.
    That is nuts

The cablanasian was throwing out PFF numbers from his subscription.. Watson ranked 3rd in the league with a 91.

The more concerning part was that the smart center was 31st out of 36 centers with a 57. Only the LT had a 75 grade and the RT with a 60 something. The 3 interior linemen all were in their 50s. It shows.
But I also think a new 'system' will have them playing together as a unit rather than individually.

You need smart linemen .. that was always the thing when I played .. you needed those cerebral type big guys who could analyze and implement changes immediately and be able to think for themselves. They would spend days of practice just going through skull and all the variations in fronts and how it applied to the blocking.

HERE guys are just dumb. Im sorry. When you get beat inside by a DL because you took the wrong first step its because you just arent smart enough to understand. The entire interior OL is like this. Howard for whatever strange reason has lost all his football IQ on the edge. A new coach isnt going to magically make these guys smarter. Talent infusion is vital, at least get veteran guys who understand their assignments.

This is EMBARRASSING for the Texans organization. Mahomes is in a stable situation and winning. DW4 has no GM, No HC, a 1st year coordinator, no number 1 WR, no RBs, and a shaky offensive line. And I didn't even mention the horrible defense. Ownership has to get their head out of their asses before the either blow those kid's career or he asks for a trade.

The reason you play Watson in meaningless games because it helps build character when things aren’t going your way. This will help him in the future. Having to adjust to new personnel on the fly and still perform at high level is part of the process of maturing as a QB.

SOOO......When does Mahomes get to learn these lessons and mature as a QB? Asking for a friend.

    Agreed

Also the QB is about to be paid so much that even if they got these things you speak of right they still wont be able to properly construct the roster.
