Possibly. He’s already by far the best qb we’ve ever had but I know that’s not saying much. Yep bears blew it. Passed up on 2 future hof qbs for Mitch. Yikes lol. Similar to Twolves passing up on Curry twice.
Yeah but.. he smiles too much. cue the yearly "you think football is fun?" gif. Deshaun tried telling y'all. "Nobody's going to take my smile."
This might be an unpopular opinion but I think Hopkins being gone is making Watson a better QB. Going thru his progressions faster, throwing to all receivers, & TE. Not saying they are a better team just saying it’s helping the QB.
I mean it's difficult to tell if that's just Watson naturally maturing or being forced to mature. But ya you definitely see him go through his proggresions much quicker and is spreading the wealth.
His Arm Strength was underrated because that Combine velocity BS (49mph). Against the Titans, He threw that ball to Fuller that went 60 yards in the air for the TD. I've seen atleast one of his ball go 65 yards in the Air....it was incomplete.
O'Brien had the right idea, but terrible execution in wanting to have a diverse receiving group to help Watson mature as a passer. Could have been done without trading Hopkins. With that said, getting Cooks has helped Fuller. Both of them could have 1000 yard seasons.
Yeah I never really doubted his arm strength. It’s solid, not elite but can make every throw. I was just saying he looks noticeably bigger/bulkier/more muscular to me.
To be fair I thought arm strength factors more into throwing line drive missles through tight coverage rather than deep balls. Though I've seen him throw those type of passes also so either way his arm strength was definitely underrated from that combine.
He played well against the Lions/Jags etc... Lets see how the rest of the season goes before electing him into the HOF.
