It's been a while since I've played regular pick-up ball (damn real world obligations)...

but, my role would change depending on my teammates. In most cases I'm the point guard due to nobody better being able to do it. I like to pass and defer to teammates, but on a team that lacks, umm, talent...I can certainly do some scoring. I'm pretty good at getting to the basket and finishing as long as their isn't a 6'3+ guy standing there.

I also get an abnormally large number of offensive rebounds for a 5'10 white guy, because nobody knows how to box out and just stands around under the basket.

    NBA Comparison
    Glen "Big Baby" Davis

    Scouting report
I'm a scrapper, I have a decent shot out to the High School 3. I can finish strong lefty but prefer driving to the right as my handle is better with the right hand, that makes it awkward to defend me. I can bang with guys my size or a little bigger as I use my body well for positioning and my release in the post often comes from unusual positions.

    Positives
Not going to find a tougher player and even though I always play within the rules if someone doesn't extend me the same courtesy I will lower myself to their levels. Lefty who finishes storng with that hand. Shot isn't pretty but it goes in, real solid pull up when going right. Very good understanding of the game, almost coachlike in this respect there I get frustrated when someone doesn't match my understanding of the game. Good footwork, especially in the post.

    Negatives
I'm a smoker so I prefer nice half court games as opposed to full court but I did play some full court a while back and held my own once I got my second wind. Not going to jump over anyone, ever. Can not go left if it involves more than one or two dribbles. Right hand finish is spotty at best though I can fool you with it occasionally.

Looks like I was logged into my brother in laws account for some reason. He must have used my account on this comp a while back. So all of those assesments were mine. Stack24's lol

    In no particular order:

ClutchCityReturns - All around great shooter but loves to come around picks outside the 3 point line. I would compare his shot to JJ Redick but definitely much more athletic. Got great hops. If he were taller he would be a great swing man so I put him at the 2 spot for sure.

    NBA Comparison - Ray Allen

Kam - Only about 6 feet tall but has a huge wingspan. Ask me I have personally had him block a few of my turn around with ease. He's got great hops and is always around the basket. He's a defensive menace and can really aggrevate players because his motor never ends. He might not always look for his shot but he can put it in there.

NBA Comparison - Ben Wallace with a slightly better game around the basket.

Macalu - Great all around point guard. The guy has strong hands and great vision on the court. He runs the offense very well and can find the open man. He will look to take it to the hole when he can and with his strong hands it's hard as hell to knock the ball out. Always finishes strong. He won't shy away from the shot either. He might not take many of them cause he's looking to pass but if you leave him alone he is capable shooter.

NBA Comparison - Jason Kidd on steroids

Moestavern19 - Got good size and knows how to use it. Looks to attack the basket most of the time and does a good job of getting there because he has a quick first step. Strong to the basket which I would say it's the best part of his game. Can hit the open jumper when need be but I think he looks more to attack. Gets in there and fights for rebounds and doesn't shy away from contact.

    NBA Comparison - Dawayne Wade

The Yo_Yo - Only played together once so didn't get to see much of your game but you were all over the place. You can take it to the basket hard and most people get out of your way cause when you have your mind up your going to the hole. Definitely get in the middle and fight for rebounds a lot as well

NBA Comparison - Chuck Hayes w/ driving ability

Yao Wink - This guy has nice complete package. He's tall but can take you on the dribble. Has the height to post you up but doesn't shy away from pulling up and hitting threes. Defensively he is a beast and has a quick first jump to block shots. One of the best all around players I have played with and enjoyed. Mean on the boards as well.

NBA Comparison - Dirk Nowitzki w/ defense

rusHour - This guy has some passion and fire that's awesome to watch. He can shoot it from downtown, isn't afraid to take it to the basket either. He will attack you all day if he sees you leave anything open. Great defender due to his speed. He can dribble and pass like a point if need be. I would put him at the 2 and let him get under your skin.

NBA Comparison - Vernon Maxwell all the way with better driving ability

Trying to remember the monikers of the other guys that I have played with but they are not coming to me at the moment. If I forgot anyone please tell me and I'll do my own little write up.

Hopefully everyone doesn't get offended by my comments and or comparisons haha..they are strictly for fun.

:D I was wondering who the hell that was. From the long descriptions I knew it had to be someone who's played with us more than a few times but for the life of me couldn't figure it out.

I would say that I'm a "point forward" - I play the wing but I like to handle the ball sometimes. I have an above average post game with all of my pump fakes and what not. I also like to hustle like crazy, running around making cuts, and usually guard the best or second best player, depending on how tall they are.

Definitely not compared your shot to Chucks. Was more the hustle, the brick wall that you are, strong hands and just know how to play defense. There is no one that I have played with that shoots that bad now.

How about Otis Thorpe...is that better? with a better shot around the basket though.

Fine your about 5'8" or something but your hops make up for it..and your 12 foot wing span.

I've pretty much played every role throughout my life. Being that I topped out at 5'9, I can't do anything inside anymore.

I usually am a shooter more than anything. Once I'm inside the half-court I'm a threat to shoot. I'm also very adept to drawing the double and getting big guys easy layup inside on a drive or kicking it out to an open shooter. Due to my size I struggle to finish inside, so I occasionally pull my ugly Rafer Alston floater if the defense stays on their man.

Defensively I like to defend against the worst player, and just roam. If someone is owning somebody on my team I switch off and guard that player. I'm a very physical defender when I actually play on somebody. It tends to throw them off rhythm even though I'm generally the smallest guy on the court. :D

lol at these comparisons. I imagine these guys are at lot better at their weaknesses when playing pickup games with average joes.
