I am torn when it comes to the Qatar world cup. It was clearly handed to them because of bribes. The country has a long way to go in terms of human rights.

But unfortunately, my own country's government are all hypocrites themselves.

And I love football.

So who am I to talk.

Gernany just bought gas for 15 years from Qatar, to prevent blackouts. The German minister (who is normally a massive virtue signaler) for the economy bowed to the Qatari guy to get this. At the same time, the minister of the interior wears the "One Love" armband on the stands, while sitting next to corrupt Infantino.

So it's all very frustrating and confusing. I cannot say that I have a clear position on all of this, sorry. I don't want my mother to not have heating in Germany. I don't want Germany to be energy-dependent on Russia. I obviously don't agree with much of Qatar's ideology. But I have met Qataris and Saudis I respect and like.

So I'll be honest - it's all very confusing, we are all hypocrites, and the last people who should ever act like they are on a moral high horse are the ****ing Germans, including myself.

I live in Texas, so the religious extremists with power are Christians not Muslims.

Imagine a man like that as President? Not only no, but hell no. It's no wonder Proud Boys memberships and hate groups memberships are on the rise in Florida.

 

He's a part of the movement, and Florida hate groups are rising. I only pointed him out because he might actually try and run for President, which is scary. I certainly never blamed him as the only one in the far right movement. There are many in the GOP and in this country, and if they decide to run for President too, I will call them out as well.

 

This… liberals aren’t against Christianity and Islam but against those folks using their religion to discriminate.

Muslims aren’t the extremist in the US, it’s the Christians. So if it seems that liberals are more anti Christian it’s because they have accurately identified who is the bigger threat in America.

It might, but I don't know that it was intentional, given Encanto was similarly poorly marketed and struggled at the box office (though not this bad). When my son went to watch it with his girlfriend, I had never heard of it. Ended up being a very good movie and extremely popular, but didn't make money in its theatrical run.

While a gay character probably doesn't help as it does alienate a segment of the population, it won't be why this movie struggles. Poorly marketed futuristic movie and no bankable female lead or animal leads that Disney has made huge success out of. In the end, you get a movie people won't even think is Disney. Disney+ doesn't do them any favors, as parents are happy to wait until they can stream at home.

 

Apple still sucks.
