The only way his absence should be excused would be if he saw some old Jazz videos and realized that his coach was on that team. Sure he should have known that before, but maybe he didn't realize what horrible cheating whiners those Jazz teams were. Once he found that out, he freaked out. If he was able to watch tapes of the Rockets knocking them out of the playoffs in '94 and '95 it will help to bring things back into the realm of making sense. It could restore his faith in the world and justice.

And Baker is an unathletic white dude. Probably too much for Rose to handle. Getting pulled for Ron Baker.

He has made 95 million so far, I hope he can walk away. I always thought he was introverted and slightly intelligent and maybe he is all of that but overriding those traits he is more selfish and weak than anything else. He should take his money and walk away or better yet, all GMs shouldn't fall for the pyrite.

Did someone actually say they thought Rose was "slightly intelligent"?

    Rose is a borderline moron.

This isn't the first time Rose has done this.... he did it in Chicago.

he miss his son? Who was in NY just then?
More and more it seems that the "family emergency" is completely bogus cover up. What is that important family emergency that you have to fly immediately back home and supposedly lose your mind so much that you don't even tell your manager/agent/ handler and by some miracle the next day you look in high spirits and rejoin the practice. Riiiighht.
It's either mental breakdown or a b****y prima donna delusional move.

I just think it is more that he is just not very smart and aware of consequences at this point of his life.

I think that out of the 450 NBA players in the league right now Derrick Rose is definitely in the bottom 5 of stupid and tone deaf. He lives in his own world because ever since he was a kid he had been sheltered and pampered. And with the Bulls he was protected by the city press and the organisation.
If he had pulled the crap he had or said in another city without being Chicago's golden son, the backlash would be so big that his reputation would already be destroyed for years now.

Yeah the "D-Fish" fishy stench is emenating out of this one
(Just for discussion) Yeah I think its Francis #1 athletic based, then D Rose and WB.

I dont think Iverson and Marbury was that athleticism dependent. Iverson had underrated ball handling and passing ability IMO. Thats a compliment that he still had NBA level skills at his lack of size. They just played an ineffective brand of basketball.

Thats arguably MORE a waste of talent. They COULDA they werent limited by skill, but were just too selfish and undisciplined to lol.
