It's hard to say someone is a clutch playoff performer when he's never gotten past the first round...

So you're basically blaming him for his teams not advancing when he pretty much performs his best during the playoffs? How about put the blame on his team or Yao?

No I'm not. I'm simply saying McGrady wasn't a clutch playoff performer, and his playoff record supports this statement.

Wasn't he like 3-11 until it was starters vs. D team? Pump the brakes.

I feel you, but I'm not really trying to see what kind of talent he's playing against right now in the preseason... just trying to assess his mindset and see how he's gliding his determination of wanting to succeed again as the player he was before injury.

    And it's good.

Still looking good. Bulls are perfect so far in the preseason, I think.

    1. He was humiliated... Sure, did Tony Parker do great or played to his level against Lebron? And TP has a better team.

    2. Warriors 3 and 5 positions weren't weak, they were infact above average.

    3. No doubt Bulls are a great team... IN THE EAST..
Put the bulls team in the West w/o Rose and they dont' make the playoffs either.
Put the Warriors team w/o Curry in the East and they also make the playoffs (5-6 seed).

Btw Rose is shooting 50% from 3s in preseason, granted its just the preseason.

And Jeff Van Gundy said regardless of his shooting percentage in the last game they played against the thunders, "you could tell Rose played well"

Rose MVP season numbers.. 25 ppg, 7.7 asts (so its not like he doesn't pass the rock), 4.1 rpg.

his shooting percentage was .445, 3s were .332, 2s were .481 and fts were .858

    his age was 22.

Lebron gave Rose tons of space, and Rose kept missing wide open jumpers. You don't think that's being humiliated?

The Spurs didn't lose to the Heat b/c of Parker...

A rookie Harrison Barnes? A gimpy Andrew Bogut? Weak.

Care to offer any reasoning for your opinion? B/c the reality is that not only did the Bulls make it to the playoffs last year in the east, they beat a very solid Brooklyn Nets team in the first round. Or do you think the Nets wouldn't have made the playoffs in the west, either?

This is one of the stupidest things I've ever read. Do you not realize how integral Steph Curry is to the Warriors offense? Last year, he had one of the greatest shooting seasons of all-time, and the Warriors were only the #6 seed in the west. You think that if he were replaced by Jarrett Jack, they'd be able to make the 6th seed in the East?

Wow, Tom Thibodeau never going to learn. Won't be surprise if Rose goes down again.

And his stats don't. Using team records as an end all to judge individual skill is just straight up dumb.

Wasn't Tmac one of the few players in NBA history to have better stats in the playoffs than the regular season?

Do you know what else is straight up dumb? Not reading what you're replying to...

Show me where I used team records to judge McGrady's overall skill. I didn't...which you would've known had you bothered to take a few seconds to read my post.

I said it's hard to consider someone is a clutch playoff performer when he's never gotten past the first round, and whether you agree or disagree, that's a correct statement.

Rose Bulls were always good in regular season but couldn't get over the Heat.
We will see how they match up against the Champs and Indiana.

I think what stands out is that TMac was so much better on the road.....
    Road Rocket

He delivered two road wins against the Mavs in the playoffs 95.

Getting past the first round has nothing to do with personal achievement, only the best team advances in the playoffs, and if you're always on the worse team then you're not advancing. The teams he faced weren't pushovers, Pistons, Jazz, Spurs, Mavs and Lakers are all top tier team when they fought. This is just as stupid as saying it's hard to say Malone is the better player than Darko Milicic because Malone has no rings and Milicic has 2.

Tmac is one of the few NBA players who have better stats in the playoffs than in the regular season. The guy had very poor work ethic but he was undeniably a clutch performer.
