What a great deal for Nets.. hopefully, he will sign an extension with them.

Harris is a good player, but no where near top pg's. I have seen Nets game.. and harris disappears during the ending moments... Williams is still a clutch player thats why Jazz was one of the better 4th quarter teams... Favors can be amazing.. but to be honest, when I went on FB page of nets.. they were hating on him as much as we hate on Hill.

At least, this deal will hurt Jazz in a short-run.. may be they will develop Favors in to dominant player in a long-run.

Now let's make a trade that helps us and then we can be in the playoffs. Jazz is likely to drop out.. we are only 4.5 games back out of them.. tonight if we win against Cleveland and they lose @ Dallas (Both of which is likely to happen)... and win only game left against Jazz at home... difference will be 2.5... which means 22 games+ to catch 2.5 is nothing if we improve and become a playoff team by deadline. Jazz should drop.

Youre right, i forget about the 2 picks they also gave up. I thought about including lee or twill, but the Nets may be the only team that wouldn't want them (back).

Maybe, but we don't know what the owner really wants. Is he happy having a superstar if they still can't win? What will generate more money for him? One thing we do know is they actually want brooks and wanted Scola.

Favors has huge upside around the NBA. I'm not sure I agree with that but that is what it is. Harris has played in most games this year I think.

I think Utah figured that Deron would not sign with them next year and wanted to make a deal while they had a lot of leverage.

lets see, he is currently the pg on a playoff team that has made deep runs nearly every year and is being traded to a joke of a team that stands at 17-40

serves him right for making fun of salt lake city, and already talking about plans to form another super team....I hate this new era of basketball, after Miami formed a super team, every decent player wants to become apart of one

Boston and LA did it first.

People resist change initially... but when all the smoke clears, it's going to great for the popularity of the league. Powerhouses bring the ratings.

This isn't the 90's. We're in the soft, cushiony 21st century and we gotta roll with it.

I don't think Jazz management liked how the whole Deron/Sloan thing went down.

The good news about all of this trade deadline stuff is that the Rockets might actually have a chance at making the playoffs next year.

Albeit as the 4th best team in the Southwest Division :(

No, they'd only be first round sweep material.

Don't be such a needy ant. Be a grasshopper and look at the bigger picture. The Rockets should not be making the playoffs for the next 2-3 years by a significant margin if they want to be relevant in the next decade.

Morey and his gang of statistcal nerds are probably too insecure to let that happen.

Nets still have 2 first round picks after this trade. They can send them and the expiring contract of Sasha to Memphis for Mayo.

    Deron
    Mayo
    Outlaw
    ??
    Lopez

Apparently, Brian T. Williams from the Salt Lake Tribune has tweeted that Williams is unhappy with the trade. That's all I could fund though.

    Nets wanted Brooks.

Brooks + Jeffries for Deron. Jeffries to third team with cap space or TE with max cash to cover his remaining salary. Throw in T-will as a trade sweetener.

Nets get Brooks who they wanted and save salary.

    Rockets get Deron

Third team gets T-Will for free just for taking on Jeffries contract which is paid for.
