I'm glad to see that it won't be that easy for the Mavs.

The Rockets on the other-hand have a better shot to get both players signed for the full max.

I don't think Either the cities of Houston or Dallas appeal to them. Neither is a negative, but its not a sell either. TEh main thing about Dallas is their franchise and owner. Mark cuban is known to be a generous owner who takes care of his players in everyway adn goes all out, so now dallas has the eappeal. Neither Dwight or Deron have even said the word Houston out of their mouth so don't hold your breath.
    Itll be NJ or Dallas

I don't mind Williams crapping on New Jersey, but did he have to say those nice things about Dallas? Come on! Nothing good has happened in the area since the pop festival in August of '69.

Why would Deron chose Houston over Dallas???

First, Rockets best player plays the same position he does.

Second, let's see which one seems more attractive...

    Chase Budinger + Jordan Hill

    or

    Dirk Nowitzki + Dwight Howard?

For Deron the appeal of Dallas is largely that it is home. Also he has been receptive to playing for the Rockets in the past, including when he was almost a Rocket before NJ offered Favors.

I like how you already have Howard penciled into the Mavs starting line up... Right now the Rockets and Mavs virtually identical records with the Rockets having a huge lead in young players and assets.

Yea as in receptive of houston and actualling wanting to play and push for houston is the reason we don't stand a chance against his home(that was a point I missed) and even NJ if they get Dwight which is moving to brooklyn and some star has a chance to be the king of brooklyn

Dirk + Cuban is better than anything the Rockets can market.

Mavs are cruising right now and they are missing some key pieces which Cuban deliberately let go to make room for Howard and Deron.

If playoffs started today, I dont care if the Rockets have the better regular season record. The crippled Mavs would have no problem dismantling the Rockets in a 7 game series.

You would think Dwight Howard of all would know how inflated a regular season record can be.

Earlier in this same thread I said I think Dallas is a slight favorite, but in your scenario you have Howard already on the Mavs, which is a stretch at this point.

howard has shown no interest in the rockets. He wants the big Market and new stadium in brooklyn or he will take the flashy franchise with the heavy spending owner, not to mention vets who have won in Jkidd and Dirk with Carlisle.
Rockets may work out only if neither of the above do and oen of those will. Wishful thinking for rockets, jsut reality

No reason why Deron will prefer Houston if given a free choice, with equal offers.

Only chance of getting him is to kidnap him via a trade before March 15, thus being able to offer him the max years and raise, $30 mil or so more in guaranteed money.

He might still leave, but the $ gives you a fighting chance if the situation in Houston is good enough (as oppose to how it looks in NJ now).

What is a stretch is either Deron or Howard coming to Houston.

Deron just pointed out why players will not come to Houston: the lack of fans or rather the lack of support during games. Players notice the empty seats when they play in Houston, they notice the terrible atmosphere, the lack of screaming fans and going nuts mentality that fans in Portland, Dallas & other places seem to have.

I see nothing wrong with what he said, NJ is terrible and Dallas is one of the places to be especially since it's his home.

Its like what TMAC said. Dwight and D-Will would be crazy not to go to Dallas. Dallas already have a MVP in his prime and both of them want to win NOW. Cuban, Carlisle, Dirk and Marion all want to win NOW. Perfect Fit, they have the infrastructure there to contend straight away.

There is no better option for Dwight or D-Will if they want to win instantly.
