Reports are that Deron Williams and Chris Christie got into a shouting match on the Garden State Parkway.

I think the Rockets have a chance. If they are able to deal for him prior to the deadline I doubt he leaves so much money sitting on the table. The Rockets are a competitive team with a well thought of front office and cap space.... it isnt like he would be dealt to Cleveland.

There aren't many arenas that would have much energy watching that weakass team.

Good thing the Nets are moving to Braclays Center in Brooklyn.

I know. A star at Illinois (followed his whole career -- and Head's) then I die when he gets drafted.

But he got Sloan out of there. I'm so proud of him!! My hero!

The only reason I would be in favor of a Dwight/ Deron rental is because it would push us one way or the other, if they stay, we sign good role players and try for a title; If they leave we can suck and get good draft picks, but, at least we'd have a direction.

I consider Dallas the most likely destination for both guys, as free agents.

If Dallas ships out Marion ($8.6M next year) at the deadline for an expiring or TE, they'll be in the drivers seat. Amnesty Haywood ($8.35M next year), renounce the FAs (Kidd, Terry), and now they're sitting on roughly $36M in cap space - enough to sign both guys outright. And the money they leave on the table is made up by no state tax. Dwight-Dirk-Deron. Big D3.

What exactly happened between Deron and Sloan that got the latter booted?

If D-Will doesn't want to be in New Jersey then I doubt Howard will want to, either.

I know what and where it is since I lived in Dallas for the past few years and covered the Mavs.

My question was how did "American Airways" get in the article? Mistake by the copy editors and all but still bad.

I think it's pretty clear that both Howard and DWill want to be Mavs, but i don't think the Mavs have the assets to aquire both. I actually think the Mavs will have a hard time enticing the Nets or Magic to to take back what their selling over what other teams will likley be offering. They have that PG, Bebouis, and that's pretty much it, so ...it will be interesting to see if either player would be willing to leave the extra money on the table and threaten to walk away for nothing, signing with the Mavs straight up. I think that before it's said and done, both players will have expanded their list of "desired destinations".

    Dayum,

    Cuban wins a title,
Gets the Gasol-Chris Paul-Rockets trade overturned,
Gets Lamar Odom (his butt still hurts from not being in L.A.),
and now is in the running for D-Will?

What Cuban wants he tends to get these days.

    DAMN I HATE DALLAS!!!!!!!!!!!

It will be a sad day if the Mavs were to sign D-Will and Dwight. They will clearly be the favorite in the west for the next few seasons and the rockets will have no chance to compete. If this were to happen i'd probably stop keeping up with the NBA for a while.

Not if they suck. We're talking about New Yorkers here. They would boo the piss out of them.

Well NJ is definitely a lesson learned for all those fans who are always crazy for the latest FA superstar. They gave up everything for him, are promising to make him the centerpiece in Brooklyn...and he's gonna leave them high and dry to go to Dallas lol.

You don't trade for sueprstars who haven't committed to sign an extension with your team.
