Snow's contract sounds fair compared to Fisher's.

A trade to get Snow wouldn't really be coming "out of nowhere" though..

but then, what PG is there that hasn't been discussed in a trade scenario on here, really?

As long as its Hinrich, Duhon, Daniels, Ridenour, or the Glove, I'm all for it. But, I'm about ready to say "let Gaines take a shot at it ..." Maybe he'll pull a Wade. If not, we can trade for someone this winter, when this FA madness has settled.

But, please say no to Snow ...

another guy who hasnt been talked about in a while is jamal tinsley. he has a cheap contract but im not sure what we would have to give up for him, or if indy is still willing to trade him.

I still hope the Rockets will get Daniels. But I really like Jamal Tinsley as a second choice. When he's healthy, he's real solid. Indiana just traded Harrington, so they may have some interest in Taylor. Taylor + TE for Tinsley and Croshere. If it'd work, I'd do it.

if NVE really only has a team option after this year, then his contract is just a 12 million dollar expiring contract. those are nice, especially if they get you out from under a smaller but longer bad contract. if the guy actually has talent, can hit shots, take care of the ball, and fill a position of need, they're even nicer.

the first two NVE trades that came to mind were Mo + Pike or Howard + Spoon. not sure if the numbers work perfectly but they have to be close. but, unless Howard qualifies for some CBA loophole, we can't trade him with another player for i believe 60 days. so, if we could get rid of mo for nve, i'd be down for it. look at our team past 05/06. i think we only would have yao (assuming he signs an extension), tmac, mo, and howard under contract. get rid of mo and sign a few guys to smaller contracts like jj's (so we have some sort of team under contract after 05/06) and you could potentially be looking at some real capspace in that year. keep mo and howard combined with extending tmac and yao and having a few extra guys around and you're looking at no capspace. NVE is a good way to get rid of mo possibly.

of course, while i know we don't necessarily need mo (though he is a great sixth man), i'm not sure why the warriors would need him with troy murphy around. but then again, i'm not sure why the warriors do anything.

Get NIck Van Exel...he's clutch!! Forget Fisher...as i said before, he will get killed by the Western guards and the only reason he excel in the NBA is cuz he's playing with Shaq and Kobe...Fisher is just a scrub when you put him on another team...maybe even worst.

I am not sure what people are left that haven't been talked about on here.

    A trade out of nowhere?

maybe Jeff Mcinnis or Jason Williams?

Crap, I wish it was Oct. already

What about Jaric? That would be somewhat out of nowhere.

That is a terrible contract for a guy coming off his worst season and kind of looking worn down. I am glad we stayed away, 6 years at 18 mil to 2 years at 10 mil or somewhere in between would have been a lot more realstic from the Rockets perspective for one Derek Fisher. I'd rather use the TE for Alvin Williams or maybe even Snow than that deal GS gave Fish (assuming AW could pass the Rockets physical).

DJ for 20 mil over 5 years looks better and better if we can't get AD for any reasonable deal.

I agree with the Arroyo thing, too bad we couldn't have offer 35 over 6 and waited for Utah's response. 16 over 4 is a steal for arguably the most solid FA PG when you weigh youth, productivity, potential and consistency.

Jaric pretty much matches what Doc said. He is only 26 yrs. old, makes only $2.1 mil. and he a good traditional pg that can shoot. Plus, the Clipps just drafted Livingston 3rd overall to play the point.

Doc, totally agree on Fisher. His contract is terrible. WAY over paid. DJ at 4/16 isnt bad. That is about what Arroyo got right? Daniels 1/2.5 of course is a steal if you can get him. I still think he would be a great choice.

I TOTALLY agree with not overpaying. This FA season is sheer madness! These GMs are going to rue this offseason for sure 4 years down the road. And that stat, 80M for Foyle and Fisher? That is just shocking beyond belief!

I agree with your assesment on what our PG needs to do. We just need them to be another SOLID role player like JJ and Howard will be. They dont have to be anything special, just not a weak link per se.

A TRADE THAT COMES OUT OF NOWHERE? That certainly is interesting. Which PGs out there (that are REALISTICALLY obtainable) haven't we talked about?

I thought I read somewhere that the Mavs signed Avery Johnson to play backup pg.
