i doubt damon jones and keon clark could both be had with our MLE, especially with the ridiculous contracts already given out. i'm sure theyll site those contracts in their negotiations to get more money. but if we could get both of them for that price, id be all for it.
Can someone refresh me on Van Exel's contract situation? -How much? -For how many years? -Isn't there an option?
Hmm. I don't suppose the Bulls would be stupid enough to give us Hinrich... JVG did praise him a LOT last year. What other relatively young PG is out there? Food for thought. This thread should go nuts over that one... Damon Jones at 4m a year for 4 years sounds reasonable, but I don't know. It feels like a leftover. I have bad feeling about Jones.
New Jersey's gonna lose Kenyon Martin, right? Not that he's Kenyon, but why not Mo for expiring contract Kerry Kittles, and trade him for NVE, the TE making up the difference? NVE lives in Houston, so I think he'd like that. Use the rest of the TE to pick up Calvin Booth or somebody like that.
Adonal Foyle and Derek Fisher for a combined 80 million dollars???!!! Wasn't there a recent thread about DO you think you could be a better Gm or something? Hell yea!!! I have a feeling that whoever the Gm over there (not Mullin is it?) will be fired in about, oh, 2 years? Those guys are worth about half that at most. And forget the argument about "there's nothing else out there." What happens when you start that argument is you get stuck with a Jim Mcilvane/Moochie/Cato/Damon Stoudamire/Shandon anderson contract.
Well you also have to consider that there really is an 8 second clock (to get the ball across halfcourt)... hmm...
Why not just wait until Van Exel is a free agent in 2005, and sign him for the full MLE? That way we can keep Taylor and CSpoon for more depth. Are we that desperate for a guy who spent almost all of last year or injured reserve?
I like the ridnour idea better than that one though.. Was that really a Doc Rocket post with no hidden clues?
If we could get rid of Mo's and Weatherspoon's contracts, or one of them, for this 1-year contract, it would really be great.
Ok, Hinrich might be a pipedream, but the Bulls might be willing to part with Crawford... At least we can rule Snow out as Doc has expressed a concern over the values being thrown around... and Snow's contract is an albatross.
