Actually my hunch is it is THE Gene Peterson (radio) who posts under that name. Doc Rocket has revealed scoops based on inside info (well before "informed media"), yes.
I am going to take Doc's word literally and try to make out some meaning. Firstly, what I noticed as quite significant is the order in which Do posted the players that he would like to have - Fisher, Jones, and Daniels. My guess is that this represent the order in which we have approached these players. So my bet is that Fisher was the first guy we contacted, and obviously couldnt conclude the deal because he was asking for full MLE. Jones was probably the guy next on our wish list, and judging from Doc's word we probably offered him a 4year 16m deal, which he probably refused. Having approached both Jones and Fisher, I think we tried make a deal with Seattle for A. Daniels. However, I think we couldnt make a trade with Fisher, because 1) we couldnt give Seattle decent value in return 2) Fisher agreed a deal GS. As a result, I think we are looking into other options via trade. The keys identifying possible trade options IMO are obviously 0.08second, relatively young and DRIBBLE, DRIBBLE, DRIBBLE. My intuition tells me 0.08 second clock implies a guard who likes to push ball forward (Run & Gun guard?) and dribble, dribble dribble can be interpreted as guard who likes to pass first or a player in the team that has a lot of PG option. I havent seen much of Mc Innis but I am leaning towards him because 1) he is young 2) he has reasonable contract that runs out next year (I think), and 3) has a reputation for being a decent guard. Nonetheless, I reckon the last line in Doc's post implies that we are still trying to sign Damon Jones with our MLE, and likely to after Daniels or unknown PG (Mc Innis) if that option fails.
u guys are really desperate about these interpretations huh? This delay in filling our roster is going to hurt us...IMO if we dont get a good pg this season we are NOT a lock in the playoffs...i wonder what GS has under their sleeves with their excess guards
I just watched the Godfather and all I can say is: The Golden State Warriors sleep with the "Fish." Good riddens, he would have brought the Rockets bad luck.
