It definately won't be David Wesley, he's 34 years old. That's not "relatively young".

Where can we find a list of NBA players with their jersey numbers listed?

    We're looking for a P with the jersey #8.

GATER, Yikes, I am not too excited about Speedy and Eschmeyer for our Trade Exception! Eschmeyer is a stiff and would be almost worthless. I would hope we could do A LOT better than that! I would rather have Damon Jones with part of the MLE and Battie with part of the TE than Speedy/Eschmeyer!

    Speedy would be very nice.

Honestly though, I'd rather have either Antonio Daniels or Damon Jones, as well as Keon Clark.

Clark would be perfect for this team, energy guy, can backup the 4/5.

    My dream:

    - Tyronne Lue and a second rounder for Antonio Daniels.
    - Sign Damon Jones with part of the MLE. (starting 3M?)
    - Sign Keon Clark with the rest. (2M/2yrs, player option 2nd year)

    Which would give us:

    Yao/Clark
    MoT/Howard/Clark
    JJ/Boki/AG
    T-Mac/Pike/Daniels
    Daniels/Jones/Wilks

Perfect. Our PG position is perfect. Our bench looks great (Clark/Howard/Jones). Great role players, variety at PF,good depth.

I don't get this move by Fisher, unless it was about money and staying in Cali. The Warriors over a contender? The Heat I can understand him passing on, since Wade would crowd him out some. I guess the Rockets just didn't want to offer him real money. Probably low-balled him at $3 million per.

I don't think you are fully understanding the BYC concept even though you've figured out the $4.7m part. Let's say the Knicks offer Mutombo, Othella Harrington and Frank Williams for the unrestricted Dampier. Here's how the $ works....

Incoming to the Knicks, Dampier counts 85% of $9.4m. Or $7.99m. Mutombo, Harrington and Williams combine for $8.6m so they work from the Knicks perspective since they are greater than $7.99m but less than $9.4m.

Golden State is receiving $8.6 in contracts and only sending out 115% of Dampier's $4.7m...or ~$5.4m. Therefore, GS must shed an additional $3.2m. Conveniently, Speedy Claxton makes $3.3m. By sending Claxton to the Rockets for $3.3m of our TE, GS can trade a BYC Dampier. GS "cleared" an add'l $3.3m to make it work.

NIKE - I'm not saying it's a 100% slam dunk but here are some factors I think are important.

Dampier and his agent turned down $8.1m this year and $8.7m next year to test free agency. Secondly, IMO the EC is going to go into reactionary mode now that Shaq is in their conference where previously a PF like Ben Wallace has passed for low post play. Lastly, even though the cap $ has dried up, there is still interest from teams like the Knicks who have bloated contracts and a lot of interest. It works capwise if the Knicks offer Mutombo's and Othella's expiring contracts and Frank Williams. (Also, the Hawks still have the cap room).

Because this thread is no longer about Fish. It's about Doc's riddle.

    And Rocksolid's find:

If it’s Bibby, I will create a monument dedicated to the greatness of CD.

Me too. I would estimate the likelihood of that happening in the 0.0000000000000000001 % range, though...

Aren't you being a little too optimistic?

The only way we get Bibby is if the King's have a fire sale and decide to cast off webber and bibby and build around peja.

    It can't be Bibby.

But if it is, then all I have to say is WOW. We'd be contenders forever with that team There would be no better nucleus in the entire league. Bibby's style of play compliments Yao and T-Mac so well, it would take a miracle for us not to win a championship within 2 years.

So perfect, it wouldn't matter who the other 2 starters would be. Seriously, it wouldn't matter at all. I'd take any starters at the F positions - give me Terrence Morris and Pig Miller.

But it's impossible. What the hell would we offer? The only thing that we have which would be valuable to them is the TE, and that doesn't cover Bibby's salary. It's just not a good fit, unless the Kings are self destrctung.

Ben Gordon would be nice too.

Count me in the camp that thinks that getting Bibby is *ridiculously* optimistic on our part. No way we could get him for the non-TMac/Yao scraps that we have. Jim Jackson is our best player besides those two and Sacramento let him walk last year. We have nothing to offer them. Bibby is arguably the most valuable player on the Kings. Do you honestly think they would take the TE + Spoon or similar garbage for him? Not a chance.

Color me unimpressed by rocksolid's find and the linkage between "nowhere" and Sacramento. I think both are reaches.

But due to Doc's riddle, I think the odds were increased 1,000,000% to 0.0000000000001 % .

The most sense of all, in a totally nonsensical way, of course, is the TE to DC, Wiz that is, to free money for matching ET. Arenas heads past Rox to Denver and Dre starts over in the Toy Shop.

Arenas is not a good fit in Washington
Miller is not a good fit in Denver
The TE is not a good fit in Houston

    Move the parts. It fits.

I'm as anxious to find out who our PG will be as anyone, but as long as we're dreaming, why settle for Bibby? We can send Piatkowski and some other contracts to Cleveland for Lebron, and we can send all of our power forwards to Miami for Shaq.
