Am I the only one who didn't read anything cryptic in Doc's post?? Besides, it's always Oilepere with the cryptic post, not Doc IIRC.

Dunleavy is a 3, which we don't need because Jackson, McGrady and probably Boki will be splitting time at between the 2 and 3,
Unless you're talking about bringing the old man out of retirement...

Can we get Stevie back? :p
Nick Van Exel is a good scorer..but we need a defender..solid role player..NVE could do well on offense. Maybe if we did get him, we could get a good defender who could guard 1s, 2s, and 3s...But his contract expires..if we wanted him, just wait one season. :/
I just hope we get someone good..solid. Antonio Daniels. Jeff Mcinnis..Alvin Williams..Lebron James..Stephon Marbury lol..Baron Davis sure..can we list everyone?

Ive psyched myself up so much, im basically expecting the new Rockets point guard to be Mike Bibby. Anything less is unacceptable.

    :D

We don't need people who can't shoot, we need an all around player at the pg.

I know that I probably shouldn't say anything since I don't have a link or anything but today on 1300 the zone(austin, tx) they actually had a blurb about the Rox trying to acquire Bibby.

Now don't shoot the messenger! I am sorry I don't have more.

I only caught the very tail end of it and I didn't get the whole segment. Just to clarify.

Saying we are going to get Bibby is like Laker fans claim they will get Yao. Kings fan will be outraged just like us.

What's interesting is that Doc said something like "warrior-to-warrior" back when we got McGrady, and some of us at the time read it to mean our next player might come from Golden State. Ever since, I've been thinking that Speedy or Dampier (or even NVE) might be some part of a Rockets trade.

I could certainly live with Speedy. He's got alot of good qualities, and he torched us pretty good in Golden State. But I was shocked to read his 3-point percentage. But if he ever got that going, he would be an offensive demon.

I can't believe some of you thinking we can land NVE just because he would like to play here. He is not an option for us. We have nothing that GS would want to match for his contract.

One of our pfs plus the trade exception? Pfft, gimme a break. They'd much rather have NVE's contract come off the books.

I was high on Speedy when he first entered the league, but I've soured on him now. Don't like his game nor his contract. I'd much rather prefer DJ or AD over him.

    Bibby? BJax? Hinrich? I wish!

If you're brave enough, I'll take a $25 tip jar bet that says Damon Jones' and Keon Clark's combined 2004-05 salary is less than $5m (MLE $). How's that for confidence? :)

    UPDATE:

Here's something out of nowhere. If the Warriors SnT Dampier for anything exceeding $9.4m, he becomes BYC. GS needs to clear $4.7m to make it work. Speedy and Evan Eschmeyer = $6.4m...basically our TE. And consequently, GS gets a $6.4m TE of their very own.

question. they have his bird rights i assume so why do they need to clear money to sign him for $9.4M? or does BYC not go into effect if you sign the guy with money left under the cap (which seems like something the CBA would have in it)?

or were you saying that in any s&t in which dampier is BYC (i feel like that "good morning vietnam" scene) they need to send out $4.7M extra with dampier to make the contracts match b/c of BYC and we can help them with that.
