Maybe Rudy's a spy working on the inside. :)

That would be awesome. When we meet the lakers in the first round of the playoffs, Rudy just happens to bench bryant to bring in the rocket killer devan george. :p

Do the Heat still have their MLE?? Maybe he was hinting at signing w/ them (and not Houston). Please let that be the case!

Oh yeah, lol. Kind of forgot he was on the team HAHA.

Although I'm sure 8/10 people here didn't realize AG is still under contract.;)

Don't get me wrong, I think Fisher is coming to Houston just like everyone else, but now it sounds like the Lakers are getting Grant, Odom, and Butler. And yes, Wade and Jones play the guard spots as it is, but remember Jones had by far his best years as a pro playing a lot of small forward as well as off guard in Charlotte (Hornets, that is). If he could still do it, I'm sure Miami wouldn't mind running Fisher, Wade, Jones, someone, and Shaq. (No power forward... Shaq will feel right at home :D)

I would love to have D.Fish running the point, but as someone else said we should have him sign a NO CRYIN clause in is contract...AKA after the finals!!!

Mark that one down. You may end up being a prophet with that prediction.

Why not? I mean they know each other. I bet the Lakers could sign him to a cheap vet minimum contract. What do you have to lose? If he fails so what, if he succeeds then you get a bonus. It is a win-win situation because you arent expecting anything great anyway.

As for Fisher, that interview is a great find. It very much sounds like he is coming here. I hope it is for a decent contract. I am hoping something like 3yr 11M or something like that. That would be slightly more than half the MLE. Anything more than that and the Rockets should have aggressively gone after Brent Barry instead. I better not see a 4th year on Fisher's contract. The only good thing about going after Fisher is that means we wont be trying to take on the albatross of a contract that is Eric Snow's. This team needs to remain flexible and taking on contracts more than 3 yeras for role players wont get it done.

Let hope he’s talking about the Heat and they’re the dumb team that’s going to throw him a full MLE contract, not the Rockets.

Exactly. No movement is better than overpaying a mediocre player.

I agree with you completely. If it is Fisher, and if it is for a reasonable price and years, then maybe it's a good choice for this year. From what appears to be left at PG, it doesn't look like this position will be settled for the Rockets beyond this season. Unfortunately, there's too much money being thrown around this week to make me believe Fisher would agree to less than the MLE. And that would totally suck, especially if he gets the standard 6 year MLE being thrown around like peanuts this year!

Derek Fisher is a good to very good defensive point guard. It was Payton that was getting lit up last season, especially in the playoffs. I kept wondering why the Lakers didn't just bench Payton for Fisher's defense the whole playoffs since Payton was pretty much a non-factor on offense as well.

Lakes were just bad in pick and roll defense. It's not toally
Fisher or Payton's fault(Payton was not known as a bad
defender). Part of the blame should be placed on Phil Jackson
    and Shaq.

I'm worried about how much the Rockets are going to pay him.

Oh God, I hope not. He is only worth 3-4M a year. I hope it's only a 2-3 year deal.

They're going to get burned even worse under Rudy's system. Rudy's philosopy was to not help the PG on defense, no switching or double-teaming, etc.
