This whole thing is a joke. I'm sure Tmac can think of a logical reason on why Rockets managed a 27-14 home record last year, which includes losing the last 3 home games of season. Maybe it's a sign they need to stop jacking up shots. I haven't seen a Rockets game since they played Boston so I have no idea what it is they do. I do remember the Mavs game very well though and am still asking myself why Tmac and Alston took shots way beyond the 3 point line under a minute left up by 4 with 16 seconds still left on the shot clock. I also need an explanation on why Tmac took 31 shots (making only 12) and Yao took only 12 shots (making 9). He always seems to make up excuses for his failures. I will say this though, TC is very dull and it's hard to get into the games.
How many players in the NBA are laughing at this moron? I don't know about you but I played at least half of my basketball outside when I was a teen. Rain, cold, wind, bent rims....we played. I imagine this holds true for many (or most) NBA players but yet we have our franchise player b!tching about something that, if it really does exist, should be a benefit for this team at home. I mentioned it before but I'll say it again. Did you ever hear Larry Bird or the Celtics complain about Boston Garden? That place was notorious for dead spots on the floor and the "Leprechaun on the basket" due to the rims being suspiciously unforgiving to jump shooters. They never complained. They used that as an advantage and wreaked havoc at home. There is absolutely no GOOD reason for Tmac (and Luther) not to be able to do the same thing.
I dont know if you were talking about a home or road game for the Mavs, but some teams (including the Mavs), mic up their rim and play the sound over the PA system. That probably explains the sound you were hearing.
Actually I think JVG had the best defensive scheme for the arena - pack the paint, give up the 3 - and let the depth perception in the arena do the rest. Perfect!
A recent study by the NCAA indicates that rim tightness does have a significant effect on shooting percentages: http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/cate...07/03/25/ncaa-tests-show-duke-has-loose-rims/ Quite interesting and informative.
Hmm thats interesting, oh btw for those of you watching the game. That 3 pointer that Tracy just made. IT WOULD HAVE NOT GONE IN AT THE TC the one that rattled in lol
Actually, Clutch's #s show there's almost no difference whatsoever. And as harsh as it may sound - players are stupid when it comes to stuff like this. Sometime, look at what MLB players say about various fields - and then what the actual ballpark averages are.
Seriously though, its been a while since this was brought up and managment has done NOTHING about it. Wtf...?
It's not something, like a dynamic labyrinth, that keeps changing or does magic. It's just the same seats, banners, lights and paints. We aren't talking about playing Doom here. How can someone not get used to it after years?
