Or if you just hold down Control when you click on a link, it will open it into a new tab rather than a new window.
They did release one patch/fix, but it doesn't fix all of these latest security problems (plus there's more known unpatched problems that I listed in a previous thread): http://www.computerworld.com/hardwaretopics/hardware/server/story/0,10801,94293,00.html
Thanks for the headup on Firefox! It's damn faster then IE. I'm so pissed off with IE lately because of the freaking hijacking my webbrowser. I'm having a real problem trying to fix the about:blank that keeps on hijacking my homepage. I try shredder, Hijackthis, Adaware and nothing seems to be working. My Spybot Search and Destroy isn't working anymore and i have the feeling the damn virus probably screw it up. Does anyone know if adaware or spyware affect the Firefox or Mozilla like it does to IE?
ActiveX is confusing, but think of it as a way for a browser to download software and execute it. It is set of rules for how an application shares information and interacts. It is powerful b/c it can have full access to windows operating systems. It has its uses (such as the Windows update page allowing you to patch Windows through IE etc...) but as with anything, it can be used maliciously.
There are ton of great extension and themes. I personally love the Noia theme, and I couldn't surf without the mouse gestures extension. Check out all the different themes (tools > themes >get more themes) and extensions (tools > extensions > get more extensions), just don't download the Active X pluging
Glad you like it daNasty. Recommend it to all your friends and family! Look earlier in the thread for the answer to your spyware question -- the simple answer is "No".
That's the beauty of Firefox, you can Download for Mac as well, and have the same experience across different platforms. Yes Firefox is like crack to me, I'm hooked and I keep pushing it.
