So today Mrs. Marley and I decided to evacuate Katy and get some lunch and watch the Brazil/Chile play. When we get to were we are going the place is packed and only one or two tables available. We sit down and the TV closest to us is playing NFL network and the have a special on about the Oiler collapse to the Buffalo Bills and Frank Reich. All I can say is ugh. That is all.
That day resulted in two things for our family. 1 - I cried my eyes out and learned new profanity combinations. 2 - My dad stopped drinking.
If I recall correctly, there's actually a pretty cool segment in there with defensive backs from around the league talking about how hard it was to defend the Run-N-Shoot, even though Belichick once said "just get to the quarterback."
Indirectly due to the salary cap (which Adams helped formulate), and the resutling "fire sale" promise and decline; but I don't think Whitmire or Perd Hapley would have risked the poll numbers tangling with Adams, so it's probably more due to Lanier's pragmatism and popularity.
