I had a dog that ran away one day out of the blue. I lived out in the country and one night I came home and he was gone. He didn't have a tag to tell where he lived, just a blue collar. I put up signs on roads in the area and after a month I gave up hope. Then out of the blue, I got a call from a lady who thought that she may have found my dog. She gave it to another guy who gave it to another guy who gave it to his niece in Houston. After about a week, I was finally able to catch up to her and it turned out to be my dog. I was literally in tears when I got to see him for the first time in over a month after giving him up for gone. Once he got a taste for the land, he ran away often. At one point, he ran to the same ranch about 7 miles from my house three separate times. That was very odd, but I ended up making semi friends with the people whose house he kept showing up and my band played their wedding. Anyway back to the point is that I still have hope for you to find your dog. Good luck!
Growing up I never had a pet, but after moving in with my gf I've realized how much one can mean to you. First she had a cat, and I would've died for that thing, and about 6 months ago we got an italian greyhound. She is so cute, and until we got her I never knew how much an animal could really mean to a person. Having watched her grow really did something to me. I really hope things turn out well for you, I realize how much an animal can mean to a person. If something happened to either of our animals I would go insane. Pugs
I was once playing fetch in the field with my dog, and I got into a conversation with another owner with her dog. She asked me if I had any kids, and I told her I had a daughter and I pointed to my dog as she ran by us.
My parents have a cockatail. One day the bird was out of it's cage when my mom opened the door to let the dog out. The bird flew out the door before she realized what was going on. Obviously, there's no point in trying to chase a bird. The amazing thing was, about an hour later my mom was either letting the dog in or out again when our cockatail flew down and landed on our porch. Even more amazing he allowed my mom to walk up and pick him up. Ten years later my parents still have that bird.
Those birds outlive many of their owners. They also become very attached and if someone has to get rid of it, very few birds can handle the new owners and become a-holes. I know a guy that cannot get rid of one, because the bird hates everyone except the family and no one in the family wants it. Perhaps it could become fuel for a volkswagon.
I've never had a dog of my own but always had a family dog. We've had 2 great danes and I was attached to the first one. 2nd one was ugly. But I never knew how much I could love a pet until my g/f got me my jack russell. I can't imagine life w/o the little booger. Love him so much I had to get the boy a g/f . Now I have 2 jack russells. Love them both to death. Hyper little buggers though.
I don't think you can marry this girl now. think about it. No matter what, she will always bring up the dog. And if you think she'll forget about it. she won't. My mom transitioned my cats between homes the same way, and one 'ran away', and to this day I always bring that up at various moments. I was so upset. anyway, you may need a new girlfriend pretty soon. More bad news
My (future) wife lived at her mother's house before we married. She had a very small bird; can't remember what kind. I hate birds because of how filthy they are. I was grossed out by the thought of having that thing live with me. One day when I visited, the bird's cage got knocked down outside, it opened up and he flew away. My wife cried and I did the best I could to keep a straight face. To this day, she (accurately) accuses me of being happy when "Philip" flew away.
FANTASTIC NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The lady came by about 30 mins ago and it was our dog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so relieved, and soooooooo happy. I thank God for answering my prayers, man I prayed so much the last two days....Prayer is amazing. Turns out she went about 4 miles down close to Hwy 59 and William Trace. The lady who found her was awesome, she took great care of her and if she hadn't called the vet clinics in town I would never have found her....I am sooooooo happy, I can actually eat and sleep now!!!! Man, you would think I lost my GF and not a dog Thanks for everyone's positive stories and feebacks.
Thats great, I don't even want to imagine how I would feel if I lost my dog. Thats great news, I'm happy for you *Also, good to see, there's still honest people in this world*
Did you tell your gf you lost her dog? If not, are you going to tell her, now that you've recovered the dog? BTW, congrats!
don't tell her you found it. instead, when you see her, tell her you got a replacement. and although it may never be as good as the real thing, you hope she can love it just as much. then see if she recognizes it. if not, she didn't really care about the dog anyways.
Great News! I've been checking back here first hoping for some good news. I guess it's back over now to GARM to see if that Moochie + Baker for Duncan trade has gone down yet. 2 Miracles in 1 day?
Or better yet, get some favors out of it. Rivaldo: Man our life is over, our dog will never be found! Girlfriend: I know..sniff...I would do anything to get it back! Rivaldo: Me too, hell I would dress up like a French maid and cook a meal naked if the beagle would come back to us. Girlfriend: yeah, I'd do the same Rivaldo: hah, I might even go down on you while you eat the meal Girlfriend: same here Rivaldo: really...
