he deserves an extension in the form of a 6m/2yr (that's 3m a yr) with a 3rd yr player's option. we should get it done THIS year. after that (2-3yrs) he deserves 5m on a long term contract.

    That was a cheap shot.

So Nuggets' vets led by hanging out with their rookies...here's how Rockets' vets lead our rookies:

Wafer rocks! I really do hope he has a nice career here in Houston. As much as I appreciate Luther as a Rocket, c'mon, this guy should be T-mac's primary backup and play at least 15-25 mpg when Tracy gets back.

Certainly Wafer is a keeper in my mind. he should get a reasonable contract from us. Heck Tmac should give him some of his salary for sure.

If i am Wafer's agent, I wouldn't make any move now for contract extension with the rockets. Simply put, he should test his market value and see how much he is worth and how much Morey willing to pay. Obiously if money isn't too much of a problem, then Rockets is still the best option for him. Which other team could guarantee his PT like we do? Tmac is a seasonable injury prone player, he will miss games every year. Wafer are locked to have PT.

Let's not get too ahead of ourselves. First we have to see him play this consistent for more than 3 weeks. I'm thinking 2yr/2-2.5mil so if he keeps up this kind of play then we can sign him to a bigger contract and have his bird rights.

It's all about the PT and money.

What really shows me that Wafer is no fluke is his efficiency. He has been playing within the offense and has been very aggressive on the fast break. I really like his potential to be a good defensive player with his quickness and vets Shane, Artest, and Mutumbo on the team. I say you give him the money right now and not risk teams like San Antonio or the Lakers from picking up much needed fire power at the guard posistion.

That'll probably be a good thing cuz Wafer plays so hard that his tank runs dry at the end of games. That way he can still play 100% and not have to worry about conserve energy for later use.

Before Mac returns though, I think he should only play 1st and 4th quarters and be given a chance or two on the shots down clutch time....

This is why I am hoping the Rockets have the edge in signing him. We gave him the chance he so rightfully deserved.
