The league has BEEN trying to get Lebron to the finals with the travel no-calls and the BS 3pt FTs. But he's simply been choking, and his teammates hasn't really helped his case.
There have been some *painful* calls in the conference finals, but I don't think either Denver or L.A. is in much of a position to complain. Are these Denver players seriously blaming the refs after that? Nene was playing terribly anyways. The Nuggets looked lost out there. I remember thinking it might be an exciting ending, but the Nuggets just went straight cold.
Wait a second, so your telling me that the NBA games are all fixed and that Santa and the Easter Bunny aren't real? GTFO!
Did the refs somehow make JR Smith go 1-10 from the 3 pt line? Did stern somehow make the Nuggets miss the majority of their open jumpers in the 4th quarter? Basketball really comes down to who is hitting their shots and who isn't. If JR Smith makes even half of his 3 pointers 5-10 let's say, then the Nuggets probably win that game and this thread never gets started. These conspiracy theories really disgust me. I am starting to hope now that it isn't Kobe vs. Lebron in the finals just so everyone will shut up about Stern and ratings for a few years. Granted, the refs have cheated in the past for Vegas reasons, but not for David Stern reasons. I actually love the NBA, unlike most of you.
Maybe a team stopped taking it to the hole when they weren't getting the calls? Could that have something to do with them scoring inside less? Didn't Donaghy talk about how they would call a bunch of fouls when the game was no longer in doubt to 'even it up'? I'm not saying that's what happened here, but it's another strike against tallying up free throws to try to prove anything.
Nope. I've been critical of Karl in the past but he's done a great job this year. The only huge knock I have on him is that Balkman should be getting Kleiza's minutes. I'd love it if the front office could find another PG (draft) to start grooming behind Chauncey and cut AC's minutes down too, but I can't blame Karl for that.
First of all, look at how thin pau is. You even said so yourself it was light contact. Do you really think Pau is strong enough to knock nene down with that weak forearm? Of course not, nene flopped, and that entire sequence caused pau to fall down. If nene didn't flop, the refs wouldnt have done anything, so as far as I'm concerned nene has no one to blame but himself just because his flop backfired.
