George Karl has coached good defensive teams before.

And there are a few decent defenders on the team, but defense takes all 5 guys being smart and committed at the same time. If just one guy screws up, it can ruin the hard work of the other 4.

The Nuggest have too many guys who are not committed enough-- or not smart enough-- to make goo defensive decisions. \

BTW, their supposed good defenders are overrated. AI gets steals, but he gets burned gambling, too. Najera hustles, but he's undersized and I don't think he's at the same level as, say, chuck Hayes. Camby is a help defender, but he can get pushed around by stronger guys.

And Anthony is pretty mediocre as a defender... JR Smith absolutely sucks.

Van Gundy brothers should do a good job on Denver. They can get out the max talents.

I think Jeff could do a great job with Denver. God knows he'd have more talent, across the board, then he had in Houston. (IMO!)

He'll probably butt heads with half of the friggin roster, though. There are lot of knuckleheads in Denver.

Isn't there some sort of unwritten rule that Denver always has to play at a ridiculously fast pace? JVG wouldn't fit that.

Teams that play on the either end of the spectrum in terms of pacing will always get unfair treatment. The Suns are another prime example of a good defensive team that gets too much criticism on that end due to their pace.

That said, I can't see how Camby is a great defensive player. Great defensive centers absolutely shuts down the paint: Mutumbo, Hakeem, Mourning, Duncan, Ben Wallace. Camby doesn't do that. He puts up monster rebounding/blocks stats due to their high pace, but his influence is not what you'd expect from DPOY big man.

Im sure Karl would do anything to go back in time and trade for Artest...they need him badly.

Denver lost a home game once again. Though Pistons is a very good team, however it's the 2nd of Pistons back-to-back game. I am glad this 3rd highest payroll team lost. :D

I really want Denver to miss the playoffs. Mainly because their team gets so overhyped it's not even funny.

The reason why dumb media and casual fans think Denver is so good is because of their pace. That's why Iverson and Melo both score so much. Why Camby puts up monster block/rebound stats.

That said, I do like Nuggets4. And I have nothing against the players themselves. Just how they're hyped up.

Nah... Seattle's D a few seasons ago was epically bad. Denver's D this season is pretty terrible... but at least they've got Camby keeping them from being the worst in history.

See, whenever I see comments like this I know who's actually not watching the games. Numerous people have already posted the points per 100 possessions stat which proves we're not "terrible". As for Camby, what a joke. He is one of the worst defenders in the league. He wants the stats, so he doesn't even bother guarding his guy on pick-and-rolls until the playoffs.

As for the Nugs.... tick... tick... tick...

I always somewhat liked Karl but I attribute almost everything wrong with the Nuggets directly to him. I don't know what it is about him but its like he comes in, gets things going, and then it wears off so fast. How do you feel about Karl Nuggets4?

Karl just said this week how there is no more "celebration of success" and that he probably wouldn't recommend NBA head coaching to anyone. Sounds like a guy who's tired of it and needs to get out.

Also check this rant about Karl: http://myespn.go.com/blogs/truehoop/0-30-113/Bitter-Denver-Fan.html

A lot of people want to dump Karl. I can't argue that. I do want to know who they would put in his place though. Adrian Dantley? Give me a break. I've never gotten into the "Fire Karl" thing this season because there's no one out there to replace him right now.

JVG, your team need a dictator. NO any players coach, that's for sure.

JVG is underrated as a players coach.
