The same reasons Denver wants to get rid of him are exactly the same reasons we shouldn't go after him. Overpaid, often injured and declining production, now Najera is another story.
The only reason people think KMart is worth anything is b/c he played with Kidd when Kidd was still healthy. If Swift had been on that NJ team, I can guarantee you he would look a lot like KMart -- a monster dunk here and there that people would (mistakenly) take as a sign of being a star player. I like Kmart's passion, but he has consistently failed to back it up when forced to play against the pros. He has minimal offensive moves, and basically lives off of good athleticism and ability to finish on the break. When he gets older, he will be worthless, since he's just an average rebounder for a PF and is nothing special on defense (aside from a spectacular block now and then). In short, he's a lot like Swift, except he's got more passion and is better at filling a lane on the break. On the other hand, he's already on the downside of his career. Swift, on the other hand, still has the chance to improve. If Swift could just learn some fundamental PF play (box out, play help defense, and cut to the basket to finish on dishes and putbacks), he could help our team a lot. We don't need him to be a star, just a Chucky Brown.
