Nuggets hire Mike Malone Michael Malone and George Karl switch jobs. The Nuggets also just hired Pete D'Alessandro who came over from...yup...Sacramento. On further note, looks like he previously worked in Denver. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Sacramento Kings GM Pete D'Alessandro has accepted a high-ranking front office job with Josh Kroenke in Denver, league sources tell Yahoo.</p>— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/WojYahooNBA/status/608681508111433728">June 10, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> Kings BW: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">I'm going to assume Michael Malone won't be getting the Denver job now.</p>— Jason Jones (@mr_jasonjones) <a href="https://twitter.com/mr_jasonjones/status/608683211405688832">June 10, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> And today: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Hope it all works out for Malone in Denver</p>— Jason Jones (@mr_jasonjones) <a href="https://twitter.com/mr_jasonjones/status/610508640055787520">June 15, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
The NBA Game Time app just pushed: "Report: Kings agree to deal with Mike Malone to become team's new coach" Lol... who is hiring who!?! I guess it is confusing. EDIT: They just sent out a correction! Haha It's amazing how the one mature voice in all of this seems to be DeMarcus Cousins. Maybe Divac can right the ship. Making the "right" pick this draft will be key. The team has drafted so poorly. Since 2007, with "high" picks, they've got: - Spencer Hawes (not a ton of talent after their pick, but plenty of guys as good) - Jason Thompson (lot of better players picked later) - Tyreke Evans (obviously Curry was the choice here. Plus they traded Evans anyway for Gervais Vasquez of all people) - Cousins - YAY!! - Jimmer - though to be clear, they drafted Biyombo, to trade him for Jimmer (in the meantime passing on the likes of Knight, Walker, Klay Thompson, Kawhi, Vucevic) - Thomas Robinson (Lillard, Barnes, TRoss, Drummond picked in the immmediate next 4 picks... YIKES!) - Ben McLemore (looking like lots of later picks to be much better...) - Nik Stauskus (lose their head of player development or whatever in Shareef cause he wanted Elfrid, the right choice!) Wow.. I really feel sorry for Kings fans. Considering Cousins fell to them because of perceived (or real!) attitude problems, that's just seriously poor poor poor drafting. The problem with being bad isn't the potential to be bad for a while. It's the fact that you will be bad for a while if you consistently draft bad. You can't win them all, but you can't miss so frequently either.
So D'Allessandro and Malone are working together again even though D'A got Malone fired in Sacramento?? Why the **** would Denver want to bring BOTH of them on when they clearly have a toxic relationship?? Kroenke has no idea what he's doing, does he?
ya, anyone followed the kings close enough to gauge in what direction d'allessandro and malone might be moving?
Malone never should've been fired by Sactown. What a dumb move. It was Harden's fault of course with that epic performance in the OT win.
