I feel bad for that guy, but even worse once he trades Carmelo and turns Denver into an also-ran.

Hopefully we will be the beneficiaries of that transaction though.

I just read David Thorpe's piece on the guy. Ujiri sounds like a good guy that worked his way up. He's in a tough situation but hopefully he can turn it around quick after a couple of down years.

He really shouldn't be held responsible for what's going to happen. Also, I said this before, but I really do feel bad for Denver fans.

I read somewhere that Masai used to play against Kevin Martin when Kev was pre-rookie status. Maybe that connection might serve useful.

I think Nash is the GOAT in sending average role players to the all star game.

Its a pretty quick turn around if you add AB or Martin to your roster. Then some draft pick and young players.

Your roster looks like one of these two versions who could still be a playoff team and some young future upside with added picks in the draft.

    Nene/Anderson
    Kenyon Martin/Hill
    Harrington/JR Smith
Billups/Battier or Budinger (could be Martin instead here and Billups at the point)
(Brooks if not Martin in the trade)/Ty Lawson

New York Picks with their draft picks in next years draft.

Thats as absolutely perfect as it gets. You accomplish rebuilding and contending all at once. Some things might change but those are all great fits and the largest of any possible moves to make each side fit perfectly without involving a complicated three team deal. Even if you wanted to go three teams? This can be accomplished as well easily. Easiest and perfect medium move for any new GM to make. Probably the best offer to except for Clippers maybe in value so called. Not easy for the move sake though and fit like the Rockets move.
