I just don't see Denver getting to the Finals. There lack of an inside game really hurts them. I love what Billups has done for the team, but I don't see them making it to the Finals.
denver is definitely underrated around these parts.... and denver DOES play defense... they are not the same as last year's team.
is there a worst thread of the year award? Maybe Clutch should make a hall of shame for these things...
Good luck with that, if it happens you get major bragging rights. I just think that EVEN IF the Nugs got past the Lakers/Rockets that they would still lose to Cleveland.
I don't think so DD. I mean I don't know if they can beat us but Chauncey Billups makes that team happen. Before I thought they were a bunch of talented losers. ANd still they have that thuggish no discipline type attitude at times but Billups is a champion and you can not minimize his contribution. Without him they are playoff fodder. But with him they are for real. He pulls the reigns in when they start going wacko. People say they don't have an inside game but the fact is they do have some legitimate inside game. It is just not typical. ANthony can take it to the hoop with the best of them and billups can post almost any guard all day long. Not to mention Nene and Martin at cleaning up the boards for easy put backs. Plus you got great role players like ANderson, Smith and Kleiza. Those guys are every bit as comparable to our Wafer, Lowry and Landry. Getting rid of Iverson and Camby worked out really well for them. Almost like getting rid of Tmac (please Tmac fans I am talking about the unproductive injured tmac) and Alston did for us. Only they got Billups and we got no one close to as good. So I would not underestimate them. I thought coming into the playoffs, the hottest teams from the West were Houston Dallas Denver Portland and LA. While everyone gave a big edge to LA I thought it was just a small one. LA played the toughest part of it's schedule early on when teams like Houston Dallas Portland Denver Utah San Antonio were either injured or trying to figure things out. Not to mention the loss of Bynum was not really as big a loss as some thought because Odom and Gasol at the center and PF is a better match against most teams. SO there great record was a little padded in my opinion. So going into the playoffs i thought there was very little difference between Houston Dallas Denver Portland and LA. Out of those I thought Dallas was the most finesse team and that would hurt them the most in the Playoffs. But still they were playing their best at the right time. But the second most finesse team is clearly LA. Not denying they have some toughness. But not like Portland or Denver or even us. After portland series I think we are the toughest team left in the west. ANd we learned a lot as you said yourself in that series. But Denver manhandled NO. They treated them like High School musical boys. I thought I saw Chris paul start to cry during one timeout. When is the last time you have seen that in a playoff game. I don't remember. And they kind of did the same thing to Dallas today. And that is kind of scary. I mean Dallas was holding it's on fine but then Marting stuffed the Ball back in Nowitzkis face and then had some stupid words for him (maybe like I bet you wish you had your mama after that stuff) and Nowitzki just put on a scared smile. ANd then denver took over. IMO they are the real deal and it won't be easy for anyone to beat them.
