I am still a JVG backer....but on one hand JVG wants older vet players, players "he can trust" but on the other hand complains when these same "old" players start to "break down" as the season goes on. Jeff, you cant have it both ways. He needs to "trust" some younger players. This is exactly why it is best to NOT have a coach be the overall GM. Coaches live for the moment (their job) whereas the GM has to look at the long haul, or as Daryl Morey put it, the "vertical horizon." What this team needs is YOUNGER players, but players that are "mentally tough". We can still pepper the roster with some key vets. But we can't have those vets play HUGE roles, we still have to have a nice balance of youth. If JVG wants the quickness he desires on the perimeter, then he is going to have to go with the younger players.
I'm all for jokes, but some people come to this site just to get Rockets news. Try not to pass off BS as actual news too much in the GARM, I don't think Clutch is a big fan of it.
seriously, that's annoying as hell. it's one thing to make a joke post, even a sarcastic one. when it starts being 3 posts of people passing off a joke as the actual news then it's just bothersome.
JVG is in the last year of his contract, but he should be watching the Dallas Mavricks for a blue print of how to get er done. You do not load up on over the hill guys who can still contribute, you need players who can run, jump, guard, and play the in between game. This is exactly why I think JVG may not be the right coach for the current NBA game. DD
Sorry - I'm late to this thread... I agree -- that is very lame. I think we got some timeouts coming for a few days. If someone has a real recap of what was discussed, please start a new thread.
