Geography also played a key role in the development of Europe, especially when compared to other regions. I highly recommend the book Prisoners of Geography on this subject. Basically, Europe had the advantages of a relatively temperate climate for growing crops and easily-navigable waterways that encouraged trade among nation-states. Areas that were too vast or inhospitable to human development did not have the same advantages.

I'm curious how the Middle East will cope with and react to eventually having solar and wind take over oil. What industry would they have without it??

@AroundTheWorld I'm going to Berlin in May for the first time. Any suggestions on anything?? thanks

Hi @peleincubus, for how long will you be there? Are you interested in anything in particular? What are your food preferences? Do you need hotel recommendations?

The rest of the post communicates that you don't know **** about Christianity. Hope you are not a Christian.

P.S. Caesar was Roman. He did not have a Greek name. Keep trying to know something. . . .

P.S. Caesar spoke and wrote in Greek (including his name) you moron. Not only are you a moron, your an ass too.

Christianity <> Catholicism tho many Catholics are Christians most Christians believe that much of the Catholic dogma is BS they created to control the people and has nothing to do with the teachings of Christ i.e. Christianity. Christ tried to free us from the law... the Catholics (and most organized flavors of Christianity in some form or another) thought it would be a good idea to bring it back.

    Have a good day.... moron.

That is sadly the result of the rise of Islamic-only education that many Muslims parents are forcing upon their children. Here in Houston alone, ISGH operates 6 full-time Islamic schools and even their mosques offer after-school programs for those still attending regular schools. The push for Islamic education in America is a huge growing market. Sadly, the problem lies often with the curriculum, which is taken straight from wahabist ideology. Many of the teachers and educators are directly linked to madrasas in Saudi Arabia where they have received training.

This simply isn't true. I went to an ISGH Sunday school once a week in the early/mid-90s. All of my teachers there were hard working immigrants just trying to make in this country. This was all pre-9/11, so nothing was politicized either.

Crap......I don't think you've a clue, Saudi curriculums can be downloaded from app/play store and seen by about anyone, nothing suspicious
I think you're implying a wish to be like Burma where a Muslim child reciting Quran would be sent to jail

Yeah and I speak Chinese. That doesn't make my name 阿龙。Caesar was Roman, Caesar is a Latin name.

InB4 okierock says Jesus spoke in English.

Catholics are Christians. In fact, they've been around about 1500 years longer than Protestants.

It's funny how the Christian God made Jesus talk in a dead language that no one understands. You'd think He would make everyone able to understand His words, instead of relying on some professor-types to translate Jesus into English. All the divinity of His words is lost when they come courtesy of a translator like me. That's right: I am translating some Christian works for a Chinese church right now! And they are paying me for it! And they know I'm not even Christian! You have to admit Islam kicks Christianity's ass in this way.

(Not playing favorite: both religions are full of deeply confused people like okierock.)

Burma is not a country. The name is Myanmar. I've been there. It's a very cool place to visit.
And the kid is not in jail for reciting the Quran. He is reciting the Quran while in jail.

Maybe you should say ISGH is forcing it on the kids?

How will Europe look when the Muslim Brotherhood has local, regional, and nation governing control?

Millions of refugees from that place identify them self as : Burmawi, UK/US still uses Burma as an official name.

More on ethnic cleansing in that region

Well here is the argument: if hundreds of millions suffering , Hindo ,Muslim or Christians without a lick of help from their Billlion plus fellows/ affiliate ,then entire brotherhood concept is meaningless, an additional billion or so won't change that

Because every place with a large Muslim population is run by the Muslim Brotherhood?

Am I detecting concern in your response?

There are large numbers of Sunni Muslims in Europe. I don't think they are going anywhere, and I don't think they were going anywhere even if Assad were removed from power.

It's not unreasonable to think that an organization like the Muslim Brotherhood would seek to expand its influence in Europe. Some US allies, such as Egypt and Saudi Arabia, consider or have labelled the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization.

No, I have no reason to be concerned and believe that the Muslim Brotherhood would take over any place simply because they have a Muslim majority in their nation or continent. That hasn't been the case thus far, and I've seen no evidence as to why that would change.
