So the presumption that Murtha wouldn't speak like that without evidence to back up his words were correct. I wonder if those that accused a war hero of slander, without knowing or being privy to the same access Murtha was have any remorse.
Actually, I don't care what they think of me. I just find it amusing that the "civility" police had nothing to say when one of their crowd told me to go kill myself.
Boy, this is the last time I deal with this. Gweenie, you were doing your normal, smarmy weekly standardish cheeky monkey routine and i suggested "perhaps you should investigate seppuku" figuring that a cheeky sort such as yourself would take it in a degree of stride. A little bit different than saying "eat **** and die" perhaps though not particularly nice, I must admit Instead it instigated a total meltdown on your part and somewhat incredibly became a seminal event in your life, which has apparently resulted in a year's worth of vile insults from you towards me and others, calling me a terrorist and other crap on an on-again, off-again basis, culminating in you saying my mother was a crack w**** who should have aborted me (a terrorist, of course) as a fetus. So, in order to cut off this "blood feud" apparently only harbored by you, I'll say this: I retract my suggestion that you engage in fact gathering activities related to japanese ritual suicide in order to preserve your honor. satisfied? You can even read this statement at the next Federalist society meeting. I feel like a total baby for even typing this post. Perhaps I should investigate seppuku. And I'm sorry I bumped this piece of crap, melodramatic thread, should have just started a new one.
I guess I was too busy being a prick. I don't condone that from anyone, but I don't remember it when it happened. Or anything else. Even still I would say that is less offensive than having people tell you that you are cheering for terrorists against our troops.
No one's going to stand up for someone they don't respect. Your posting style generates very little respect from other posters. Perhaps when you start contributing something of value instead of just posting articles and running away saying "these are not my opinions", people will put forth the time and effort to say something when you're attacking. As it stands, it just seems like common sense that no one would - it's neither surprising nor amusing, really.
Wondering why someone would call me a prick? Golly, thank you very much. (see, sishir? civil, that's me!) Keep D&D Civil.
Oh c'mon on now you're only saying that because you're a goody goody pastor who doesn't have the spleen to be a true keyboard warrior! Seriously though the feeling is more than mutual. And in regard to having disagreements with each other we wouldn't be here if we didn't disagree with each other. The forum is called Debate and Discussion not Consent and Conversation Like Rhester said a lot of this comes down to the Golden Rule and if you treat other posters with civility they will do the same even if they disagree. At the sametime too there are times that just have to swallow your anger and just realize that an Internet forum isn't worth insulting each other over. I say this not because I'm perfect, I get heated everynow and then and its a good thing we don't have live audio feed so y'all can't here me swearing at the keyboard at times, but because I quit another politics internet forum because I got really pissed at another poster. It got to the point where we were just trading insults and I realized I wasn't learning anything and didn't like feeling angry everytime I visited. That's not what I'm looking for and would rather just enjoy the intellectual debate and community than just be pissed off at someone.
I don't remember seeing that but I agree that was pretty uncalled for to suggest another poster commit suicide.
Well basso, you were wrong again. Murtha knew exactly what he was talking about and you took the lull between his statement and the proof that it was valid as one more opportunity to slam a respected vet for not supporting a chickenhawk's folly of a war. And you were wrong again. Don't ever talk about supporting the troops again. TIA. Happy Memorial Day.
