The vast majority of American do not face starvation or homelessness. The ballooning of the deficit and its impact on the ability of the government to function will effect pretty much everyone.
Ok? I'd prefer they vote for someone serious about tackling the debt and the deficit. Neither the Democratic Party nor the Republican Party seems very interested in that though. So, vote for someone who is.

The deficit and the debt is an important issue but folks are too myopic to recognize and appreciate it. The limitless expansion of government and "free stuff" sounds a lot better.
40% of Americans have a negative net worth. Almost 80% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. These numbers are significantly more dire in the Midwest states that Democrats need to win to take back the Whitehouse. To answer your question -- YES. Far more people in this country are worried about their day-to-day needs than government collapse from debt.
You voted for trump after he told you he would reduce the deficit. And he grew it. So you expect your fellow trump supporters to choose someone else (ie Gary Johnson) who tells y'all he will reduce the deficit? That candidate will not win, and there is no way your fellow trump supporters will risk letting the *gasp* Democrat win?
Honestly if you had the foresight to look 30-30'years ahead, healthcare for all citizens and free access to higher education and trade schools to all citizens will probably reduce the deficit in itself through increased tax revenue from people not dying prematurely and contributing to society more.
OK, sure. Its amazing... the number of trump supporters that also claim they voted for Gary Johnson. Extrapolated out, Johnson be president if all the people on this site actually voted for him that claim they did. But in reality, Johnson had 3% of the popular vote. But its OK... Are there going to be exit polls soon from these debates? Would be exciting (but unlikely) to see someone catch fire. Anyone else is surprised that Trump was barely mentioned during the debate? I understand that 2018 election cycle didn't talk about him. But this is a presidential election cycle and plus calling out Trump may get you a promotional tweet from el-Presidento himself. Or are they afraid of rough and tumble with the bully in chief? Maybe never-trumper segment no longer a thing after all per internal and public polls... People lose will to fight so quickly. Feels like there is no biggest/deciding issue in the debates so far except the emotional fatigue from Obama and Trump/Hillary roller coaster. I feel like Biden appeals to that fatigue and also promises to restore the American dream for the middle/lower class (but without a complete foregoing of fiscal responsibility & government expansion) and that's why he is the front runner right now. Klobuchar would have potential if she moved a little left for the duration of the primaries.. She has a calming presence and will appeal to women (who are hopefully the most motivated to vote in this cycle still). It's more likely that she will end up Biden's VP.

If Castro could build some momentum, he’d be a better challenger against Cornyn than Beto is. However, I think you’re correct and he’s looking for VP or a cabinet spot.
What was possibly even more interesting is that the Democrat frontrunner Joe Biden was not mentioned during the debate, either.
Also, neither one of those two has any kind of a realistic chance at beating Cornyn. And they know it.
Biden is a front runner because of name recognition from being the VP of the Obama presidency. He can only lose support from now on and has peaked as he doesn't inspire much with his rhetoric.
