It used to be said that politics ends at the water's edge, that both parties stood in solidarity against foreign foes. But today the Democratic party has inverted the meaning of the old adage. They stand against Republicans, even if that means standing in solidarity with America's enemies.

like mc sadr and batman bin laden.

Niether Sadr, nor Bin Laden have a true army or a country.......thus - it is not a war.

If you want to go after them, fine, do it with a multinational hit squad.....but using the military is uneccessary and wrong.

this is a new one!

people go off on shooting rampages because liberals are happy that the united states in not winning in iraq?

this is about as dumb and ignorant as sen. cornyn saying that the courthouse violence that went on last year where a couple judges got shot by escapees was due to the escapees being angry about "judicial activism".

are half of the troops who have served in iraq and afghanistan "pissing" on their own comrades graves b/c they think iraq is unwinnable?

basso once again with the tired hyperbole.

When the war is just and the cause right for America (see Afghanistan), you will find that I have no problem with deploying our military or supporting the president (no matter the party).

But once deployed and in the field, ALL of America should support the troops. That means not highlighting only negative news and not having feelings of schadenfreude when the terrorists strike areas of Baghdad/Fallujah/etc.

Stop making sense Batman. Tis far more productive to rant against "commie liberals" and put another "support the troops" ribbon on the back of one's SUV.

The republicans have always supported the troops. Even when they made up rationale for pre-emptive invasions, refused to listen to generals, lowered healthcare for veterans, enacted stop-loss programs, and (my personal favorite) limited their ability to kill Osama at Tora Bora.

But, they have ribbons. Sometimes two or three.

    Game, set, match.

I don't think there is anyone on this board that despises the troops more than Georgieboy. That’s been proven time and time again.

You would have to actually be in harms way to "tuck tail and run." If you think there is something worth dying for in Iraq you should have no problem enlisting.
