Yeah, the delegate who totally ignored the "were you in it for me or were you in it for them" part of Hillary's speech.

As a Hillary supporter, I think she gave a great speech. I wouldn't say it was a ringing endorsement for Obama though. Not once did she talk about his character or if he would be a good commander in chief. She said what she had to say to try and unite the party. In the end, this was more about highlighting her accomplishments. She should've attacked McCain more but look at what she did...she called McCain her friend at the Democratic Convention. What was THAT? This speech didn't really unite the party IMO.

I wouldn't be surprised if Obama refers to McCain as his friend and I've heard McCain refer to both Obama and Hillary Clinton as his friends. HEck he refers to everyone as his friend.

I don't know truly what Clinton or Obama thinks of McCain but it is necessary for them to maintain some veneer of geniality and not go into full attack dog mode.

Great speech. "were you in it for me or were you in it for them"

No way, no how, no Mccain!

She can deliver her supporters. Wasn't that hard to do. Very few were really going to back McCain.

when you're in a elite group (such as the senate) you're usually more than just acquaintances. similar to that of players in the nba, though they may be on separate teams and have a pretty big rivalry, during the off season it's not uncommon to see them hangin out.

Yeah, Hillary knocked it out of the park. As others have said line about "Were you in it for me or for them" was terrific.

It's great that Obama called and offered his thanks and appreciation for her speech and what she's done.

It was a great speech, and she has improved in delivering speeches since the campaign started.

I sort of agree here - but I actually think it was a good thing. The speech had a lot of "I am awesome. We lost. So vote for Obama" without any "Obama is also awesome, and that's WHY you should vote for him."

However, I think that's fine. The still-remaining Hillary holdouts aren't going to get excited about Obama - they will always think Hillary should have won and want her there. So her goal is not to try to excite them about him. Her goal is to simply get them to vote for him - and that's the appeal she made. If she were speaking to generic undecideds, I think the speech would have been weirdly focused on her. But she was speaking to a particular audience of Hillary supporters not totally willing to support Obama. I think she hit the mark for that target.

Just to go on this further, I was thinking last night that Michelle Obama is not even a politician but that she might be a better public speaker(especially giving her lack of experience in that arena). Now I think Hillary doesn't have to apologize to anyone for her public speaking.

Not only was it a great speech it was a great speech under ultra-intense scrutiny and pressure. There was a lot riding on it, and there was a lot of different things that people in many arenas were expecting from it, and I don't think she let anyone's expectations down.

The last third of the speech she got on a roll and was good by just about any standard.

The national Dems need to give up on the guy from Virginia. I don't see him being a presidential contender. Good content but no spark.

it's reported that the bitter hillary supporters are saying with this great speech, she should have been the nominee and they will either not vote or vote for mccain.

man, don't thye know obama and hillary support the same thing and mccain/republicans don't? how stupid are these fools?

A couple of times I thought she was going to repeat the tremendous gaffe of the non-concession speech on the night Obama went over the delegate count, but just when it got to be too much "me" she returned to Obama.

she paved herself a path to the white house. if obama loses in november, it's guaranteed she'll be the presidential nominee in 2012 and have a great chance of winning (12 yrs under republican leadership will put some on suicide watch).

even if obama wins, i think she just puts herself in a great position to win the presidency. she was so generous and gracious tonight.

Poor, poor Mark Warner. He was the key note speaker and absolutely no one is talking about his oh so boring speech. Hillary was really great. I also liked Schweitzer. Didn't see all of Sebelius' speech. What I saw was pretty awful.

Was it Fox News? I don't think many Hillary supporters are that stupid or fanatical.

Did you not learn a lesson in 2008? No such thing is guaranteed. I promise you that Hillary learned it.

You missed the interview of the Hillary delegate on CNN. It was, um, incredible. Like Anderson Cooper mentioned, I hope they interview her again after Obama's speech on Thursday.

I watched it with my sister, and like many in the audience, she was also crying. I even found myself wanting to shed a tear. Hillary was just remarkable tonight.
