Dubya in a sense was his own man as Governor of Texas. When he got to the White House he become Daddy's little boy listening to what he, Rove, Cheney, and every elder GOP said. That was his demise.

Actually, yes on Rove, Cheney, and Wolfie, and yes on that being his demise. But I think GWB split strongly from his father, which was part of defining himself. His father was more moderate and less hawkish, by a long shot.

Wrong. According to Gallup's daily tracking poll, Obama's bounce topped at 8 points and narrowed yesterday to 6 points.

you have to admit it would go to 10+ pt lead but mccain dropped a huge curveball that rejuvanted his campaign. as a democrat, you have to admit it was a great strategic move for now as it removed any remaining attention to the DNC. my prediction was based on thinking he would choose romney or other choices that were talked about.

but now we're starting to learn more about palin and her family and her policies/values. the poll will go back up.

Just like it would be a landslide by the DNC. Just like it would be 10+ lead by Labor Day.

These predictions have been wrong at every turn. Why so complacent that this time is any different?
