Did yall think becoming an elite team would be easy and have no failures? The only thing that matters in the NFL is making the playoffs and with good momentum. We have a REALLY tough schedule this year, we're going to lose a few more, we might get in with a 9 win record, but if we get in, maybe we make noise again. The road to winning championships in the NFL is just making the playoffs enough times to where eventually everything goes right for you. I Agree with CJ, at least this happened at the start of the season. We lost to a team playing at a really high level and on the road. So what, move on. They might come down to earth and we might start getting stride. Belichick always says "It's not who you play but when you play them." and right now it looks like we ran into a buzzsaw. I think we'll be fine, still very confident we're winning this division and going to the playoffs.
As I was saying! The TOP coaches do not put up with constant underperforming players. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nf...arter-has-officially-been-benched/ar-AA1r3Vmz
You can not excuse being on the road against a hot team. KC beat Atl on SNF. You know how much excitement was surrounded around that game! If you're plans are to go to the SB, you have to hold yourself to a different standard
Easier to bench a rookie. Wouldn't mind Tunsil getting benched for a bit if he keeps getting stupid penalties.
And that's what I'm saying. If I'm Demeco, he needs to give Tunsil a penalty count this week. If he goes over two, he needs to be pulled
We can probably quibble over how we define a blow-out but... KC lost last year to Denver, 24-9. Detroit lost to the Ravens, 38-6. SF was beaten by Baltimore, too, 33-19. (To your point, the Ravens did not get blown out last year - but they did lose 4 games to Minshew, Pickett, Watson & Rudolph). Point being... even the great teams have off weeks. Sunday was definitely discouraging, and there were some problems that feel like legitimate obstacles. But if they pound Jacksonville this weekend (& I think they will), they'll be up, minimum, 2 games in the division (1 on Colts, plus the H2H) entering the rougher part of their schedule.
Come on... the Falcons are 1-2. The Vikings are 3-0 with decisive wins over two playoff teams, including the defending NFC champions. I don't care how excited fans were - the Vikings are, right now, a light-years better team than the Falcons. Like I said, Sunday was bad. This team might be due a step-back year. But, also: I don't think getting boat-raced by the Vikings is cause for alarm. Lose this weekend, yeah - that's really concerning.
Wish they would bench him on his first penalty. He's a fcking veteran and proclaimed a top LT...you can't be a top LT if you're one of the reason the team lost. He literally killed multiple potential drives by himself. I just want DeMeco to pull Tunsil for a whole offensive drive when he causes a penalty. Just pull him to send a message. Can put his ass back into the game in the next drive.
This thread isn’t about holding players accountable. It is a knee jerk overreaction saying Demeco is the same as Bill O’Brien or David Cully after the first loss of the season. It’s the equivalent to throwing your glass at the waiter and screaming to see the manager because you were served the wrong dessert after a nice meal. “I just am not happy with being average” is a thing average people say because they think throwing tantrums is the key to unlocking performance.
You're correct, I didn't make this thread about holding players accountable, I was simply addressing a question. However, if you analyze it, they both work hand in hand. The coach has to make the player accountable, correct? If the player continues to make the same mistakes over and over, it's up to the coach at that point. And that's why I'm saying, we've NEVER had that coach. And if Demeco continue to let Tunsil's mistakes to stall drives, then that's on Demeco, not Tunsil. And just like I alluded earlier in the this thread, Andy Reid benched his starting LT.....SENDING A MESSAGE. Be it a rookie or a 10yr veteran, next to the QB, the LT is the most important position on offense. Its up to the coach to set the standard!
No, I meant jumping to a conclusion on a coach based on 1 season and 3 games immediately following that initial 1 season where his team won its division and a playoff game unexpectedly and is 2-1 in those 3 games.
That’s this idiot’s MO; before the season started, he was asking who we were going to blame for something that hadn’t even happened yet! He’s one of those miserable people that has. need to find something to whine and complain about. His takes are the absolute worst.
To me, last season is different from this season. Expectations are different. And that was understood at the beginning of the season, from the owner, coaches, players and fans. Last yr, there were no expectations, this yr, the expectations are different. Winning the division, winning 10 games, is good but now we expect AFC Title game or better. And the only way we're getting there is for the HC to set standards! If we're to graduate from division winners and 2nd round exits, we have to show it. It's better to play KC and Bal at home in Jan, than on the road! And playing like they did last week, for sure will put them on the road
