First off, Carroll has really exploded this year. Any NBA fan knows this. His outstanding, seemingly out-of-nowhere play is a whole other topic.

So...I'm in a conversation with my buddy's dad, and like most casual fans, he's never heard of Carroll.

I'm trying to find a good comparison for Carroll so my buddy's dad will have a better idea.

So far all I've got is a younger Trevor Ariza, but that's not the best fit. Maybe Marvin Williams? Thoughts? To whom would you compare his game?

An older Jae Crowder, a smarter Jordan Hill, a win version of Kenneth Faried, a black Luis Scola?

An undersized power forward Morey had for 3 days that blossomed as a 3.

I think so. Looked really bad. I can't imagine it will be non-serious.

No kidding. Basically the key to winning the title this year is to just not have injuries.

Think about it. The Mavs lost Parsons, Jefferson, and Rondo(to mental problems). The Rockets lost D-Mo, Bev, and now Dwight. The Spurs had Parker playing on a sore Achilles. The Clippers had Chris Paul with a bad hammy. The Grizzlies had Conley and Allen miss time. The Bulls had Gasol miss time. The Wizards had John Wall with fractures in his hand. The Blazers lost Matthews and missed Afflalo and Kaman for a few games. The Pelicans had a banged up Evans and Holiday. The Cavs lost Kevin Love and have a banged up Irving. And now the Hawks, the only other healthy team in the playoffs, lose Carroll to a potential season-ending injury.

No wonder the Warriors dominated the league this season. They're the only ones who had a full roster.

The Hawks had already lost Thabo which is at least as crucial as Carol's injury. Maybe more.

True. Forgot about him. That was a bizarre way to sustain an injury too.
