I wouldn't want Cousins even if the price is low. Someday he may wake up and play up to his skill level, but who knows when or if that will happen.

6'11" 270 and a career 43% shooter. He either can't score inside consistently or doesn't want to. Either way, it can't be changed by a locker room speech from McHale. Cousins himself will have to change, and so far he's shown no willingness to do that.

terrible bump because it's bumping a thread that makes people think there's been some movement in the title/subject--that he WANTS to be traded right now and is complaining.

There has been no such rumor since the season started. The price isn't known to be low, and he isn't supposedly being openly shopped

Worth talking about for Houston just for the hell of it? Sure, if you want

I agree that Cousins is more of a center than PF, but I don't think starting Cousins and D-Mo would work too well. Neither guy is or will ever be a plus defender and that's a problem. You need to pair either guy with a plus defender at all times.

I don't think Asik and Cousins would a perfect fit, but I think it might actually work. Again, I also view Cousins at a center, but if you play him at PF next to Asik, you will control the boards every single night.
Think of it like Gasol and Randolph playing together. Asik is a better defender than Gasol and I don't think there's much of a difference between Cousins and Randolph. Offensively Asik & Cousins wouldn't be quite as much of a threat, but I believe it could work if you put the right players around them and James Harden is a great start.

Now, I can understand if would like to have a little more spacing for Cousins to operate in the post, but good luck finding a plus defender that has 3-point range or is deadly from midrange.

Cousins is the type of guy who seems like a selfish, immature cancer when he's facing the pressure of trying to be the go-to guy on a young, terrible team.

These are the guys you put on your team, give them a role, let them take a backseat to the current stars, and watch them blossom into highly efficient studs.

I remember a time when people said all these things about Zach Randolph too.

McHale would probably tell him "Watch Omer Asik and copy his every move, don't even worry about offense, just gobble up every rebound and stick to your man like stink on ****"

Cousins definetly has the skills, tools. He just needs to be put in a good situation with a good coach. He needs plays and just the right amount of touches, not too little not too much. Would love for the rox to pick him up, doubt it happens though. Kings would be stupid to give up so early, and take our sorry package of parsons, a rookie or morris and a future first (thats literally the max we could offer).

I'd open the roster and have the kings choose anyone they want, outside of James Harden, for Cousins.

The guy averaged 18 ppg and 11 rpg in his second year and his still isn't a finished product. Just from a physical profile perspective the man is 6'11, has a 7'6 wingspan, 9'5 standing reach, 270 lbs and nimble as ****.

Why would you NOT take a chance on Cousins? He has tremendous potential

You'd have to hope its the Kings organization that's impaired his abilities thus far as he's been fairly unimpressive over the past two seasons.

This thread getting pumped really got my heart pounding there for a second... thanks alot.. JK, glad you didn't start a new thread.

I would trade everyone on this team not named James Harden for Cousins if I was Morey.

If he comes available, dont worry... Morey will be on it. He's coveted Cousins since the draft, and its been pretty widely known.

i love Cousins upside defensively. He has great lateral quickness for his frame/mass. He's tough. And he already does many things well.

And it's a bit too early to claim that re Motiejunas as well. He hasn't played in the NBA yet. He looked much better defensively in Europe by any account. Give him a year or two to add strength and adjust to the NBA rules. When you can't grab and hold like he could in Europe and have to rely on your lower body, it's just a steep learning process.

Yep. I would trade any one for Cousins too. I do think it won't take Lin or Asik any ways though and would likely take some of our young PFs any ways and maybe Morris since his value may be on the up this season (hopefully)

I don't think we would trade Asik for him. Sure, if the proposal comes across and that's the thing that's stopping you, you do it. But, I think that Morey has somewhat of a bad rap for "treating his players like assets" and if you trade a guy Morey went hard after in less than a year, I think it discourages future signings.
