Yes because those poor rich people who can afford health care shouldn't be made to be nervous about their money.

Definitely a possibility. I'm not sure yet whether it's his ability to fend off the attacks or if it is that Hillary is so terribly bad as mudslinging politics. Not only does she do it, but she really comes off as sleazy while doing it - like the kindergarten thing. I think many months of sustained attacks without a response in-kind would ultimately take a toll, but it's very possible that people are finally starting to see through that garbage. We'll see!

Let's stay realistic. If Obama is nominated, the GOP mud machine will make Hillary's attacks look like a water gun fight. The Republicans are much more crafty and brutal at presidential politics than Dems. Attacking Obama would backfire with some voters but I'm sorry to say that negative attacks work very well in presidential general elections. Obama would end up pockmarked, and his ability to fire back effectively (in whatever way he chooses) would determine his survival.

I think the more they do, the more it will backfire. I think the more they try and drag it into the mud against Obama the more it would harm them.

I think the general populace is probably even more sick of the negative attacks than political observers who watch it all the time.

I could be wrong, but so far it's proven effective.

How about treating everyone the same, would that be impossible? If you are going to have mandatory, state funded health care, it should be free to anyone who want it, with unsubsidized private insurance also available, perhaps with some sort of voucher system so people can use the money that would pay for the cheap government insurance to help offset the cost of private insurance.

Every time I see Huckabee, Chuck Norris is standing right beside him. Is Chuck his bodygaurd or Something?

Vote Huckabee, or Chuck Norris will kick your ass.

Negative campaigning bites the offender worse in primaries than it does during general elections. Fratricide is considered more offensive than homicide.

I think it's clear that Obama will be the next president - like him or not, his charisma will carry the day, and he already has enough to beat up McCain.

McCain saying we'll stay in Iraq for 100 years - that's going to be ten times worse than what John Kerry said 4 years ago about waffling.

Ad in the the fact that McCain will come across as old and out of touch, and it won't even be a close election.

it will be interesting to see if conservatives bash Obama as just another liberal.

I couldn't decide which part was the best, but I'll try those three sentences.
