If I lived in Chicago and he said anything different I would be livid.

Livid? Really? Would you be 'livid' if Harden said something like 'right now, LeBron is the best, but I don't think I'm far off'?

Your post was clearly a logic super-fail, assuming people wouldn't want Rose on their team because they don't think he is the number one best player in the entire NBA.

Please explain how my post was a logic super-fail like yours.

    Thanks.

I don't think he's the best in the NBA, but people are downplaying how good he was just because he said he thought he was the best. I probably could've of worded it better but the point I was trying to make was if given the chance wouldn't you guys want him? Because reading through the thread made me think otherwise.

Also, I was just messing with ya on your post.

OK, that's fair. Of course I would want him on my team. Unless I already had CP3, Tony Parker, or Westbrook. Until he proves otherwise, I think at this point, Rose is clearly behind CP3 and Parker, and would be behind Westbrook too if he wasn't dealing with his own injury problems.

Aside from these 3, I'm not even sure the Warriors/Cavs/Blazers would trade Curry/Irving/Lillard for Rose right now. If Curry and Irving didn't have injury problems too, I don't think they would.

Rose is not top 5 this season. He has to earn it.

LBJ, Durant, and CP3 are definitely better.

He's more in the rank of Melo, Westbrook, Howard, and co.

Chicago fans are saying they like the attitude and they wouldn't want to hear anything else, but if LBJ says he thinks he's the best player of all time, Chicago fans would go on a riot. What if that's LBJ's confidence, and that's the goal he has set for himself?

    Rose is overrated.

Von Miller stated that JJ Watt is the best pass rusher in the NFL so why can't another NBA player say that Lebron is the best at Basketball.

I think you fail at reading comprehension. I never said Rosé is better than DRose, I'm just saying that IF Rosé comes back to his MVP self, then he has a SHOT at being the best player in basketball.

    Rose is only 24 folks.

LOLwut? Rose was 100% healthy when LBJ defended him and shut him down.

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/HOU/2011.html

LOL Rose was scoring like 30% FGs the entire series. He doesn't just have to get back to his old self, he has to be way better because while he has been injured LBJ has actually been improving his game and is way better now than before.

Sure Rose is 24 but LBJ is only 28. By the time LBJ starts slowing down Rose will be old too and a new guy will be the new "chosen one".

What he said is not the issue. If HE really feels that way then that's fine. I'm sure that he is not the only player who feels that they are the best. Take Kobe for example. The issue is that some posters here seem to agree with his statement.

Rose (when healthy) was easily a top 5 player in the league. Hell, you could legitimately argue he was in the top 2 before his injury. He's got an MVP to prove it.

He has an MVP. Lebron has won it 4 of the last 5 seasons, while going to the finals 3 times in 3 season, winning the last 2 while earning 2 finals mvps, all of which has occurred since D-Rose was drafted.

As an objective basketball fan Lebron v Rose is not much of a debate. That's not to say that Rose doesn't have the ability to one day become the best. But considering what they've shown us so far, even a 100% healthy D-Rose is not yet up to Lebron's level.

Watch him come back and just suck terribly lol everyone saying he's better than Lebron would just shut up. Lebron has 4 MVPs to 1 for Rose, Lebron shut Rose down when the series was on the line. Rose's stats aren't as good on a team where he's the only star....Rose is awesome when healthy don't get me wrong but if you think he is actually better than Bron you know ZERO about the NBA.

Why the hell is this such a big deal. Gosh. You need to have arrogance and to a certain extent even-overconfidence in your own ability, its what drives these superstars, to be the very best. Nobody wakes up in the morning and says, "Today I'm gonna destroy myself in the gym, so I can be the 7th best player in the world." pfft
