I absolutely adore Delfino, but this line still made me laugh. Oh yes Carlos, you're a true paragon of shot selection. I'm glad he's having fun though, I really do enjoy watching him. Even though he was more well-rounded in his youth (he even used to be a great rebounder for his position), I think this is the best year of his career simply because he's just hitting everything. He's never had an effective FG% over 50% before, and he's at 54% this year WHILE attempting a career high in shots per minute.
Why did the reporter use "eficacia" instead of "eficiencia"? Is it just the difference between being able to make a three versus hitting the three with efficiency?
who said that? he's definitely not a ball hog. far from it. he does need to trust his teammates more from time to time but that's totally different. he's used to having durant on the team.
Morey's ability to find guys like Delfino is why I'm not even slightly worried about building a 2nd team when we are ready for a championship run. All we need is that 2nd, high profile piece and we're golden.
Well, that makes one of us. If Delfino got cut tomorrow in favor of AB, I would lead the cheers. Guy's the worst decision maker we have, bar none. I'm just going to start calling him Cuttino Delfino from now on.
Thanks for posting this. It's such a wonderful feeling when you see Delfino getting hot and raining 3's.
Kevin Martin always reminded me of Reggie miller but without the hof intangibles, clutch gene...wait he is nothing like Reggie miller. Nm.
I didn't know what to expect when we signed him, but I love him off the bench now. Hopefully he's here long term.
Raw athleticism or potential don't keep role players in the NBA past age 30. It's the guys who know their roles and continually adapt as their abilities change or diminish that stay in the NBA after their first couple contracts. The true professionals. All of those guys were 100% true professionals. And I know many here will cringe, but I'd add Juwan Howard to that list. Howard still carried the stigma of having once had that ridiculous max contract and he was in the unfortunate position of having to be our starter when he was at a point in his career that he should have been coming off the bench, but he came to play every game and his coaches and team mates had nothing but positive things to say about him.
