Class Act. We'll miss you Deke. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/wMCjbzBHD-8&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/wMCjbzBHD-8&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Well it sucks. It had to come to an end sometime but you never want anybody to go out like that. He was a great man and probably more so for what he did off the court than on it. He'll be missed.
I's just a damn shame that he had to retire from the game under these circumstances, I still can't get over that.
Deke's career was supposed to be over 3 years ago. Rockets was fortunate to get more out of Deke. Deke is not only an amazing atheletem, but an amazing human being. It was fortunate for Rockets and NBA to have Deke. I don't feel sad for him because he has done more than humanly possible for this sports. Good wish to Deke for whatever he does after Basketball.
Deke is the man, his charitable efforts outweigh his basketball accomplishments. He is a first ballot hall of famer, and one of the greatest sports people in the history of basketball.
I don't think many sports stars have been lauded by the President in the congressional speech. He is just amazing.
Happy trails Deke. You will be missed on the court but you will always be a great player and a great person. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/bDKQhCgLqxU&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/bDKQhCgLqxU&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
just in case some of you may be avoiding the video thread, Postgame interview with Deke You've had a helluva career Deke, thanks for the memories.
I still have this card but my most prized Deke possesion is an upper deck card from when he was with the hawks it included a piece of Deke's shoe in the card.
Whenever he went for a rebound, his elbows came in swinging at everyone. HE was the reason we blew out portland, they could just not buy a board when he was in the game. Man......
Deke will be missed. I hope he gets offered a job here and stays in Houston. He means alot to this team and the fans
I haven't had an appetite since last night and everytime I think about Deke I feel like my eyes want to water. So sad.
I know we all want his jersey retired. However, we have no control over that. Therefore, my suggestion is for us (the members of clutchfans) pitch in money for Deke's cause as a thank you for five great seasons as Rocket. We are the best fan site in the world. Let's take it to the next level. Clutch, what do you think about it?
I can't even look at this picture (flipped vertically) without feeling this sensation of despair. Just look at his facial expression. He looks like he feels he just got betrayed. Back-stabbed by the evil side of the game of basketball. Just a terrible tragedy that this great human being will leave the game he loves on this sour and painful note. This does not sit well with me at all!
