I hope they keep Deke on the sidelines as a Coach. The man has a place in my heart, him and Dream. KEEP DEKE A ROCKET!!!!
Had The Show must Go on playing in my head for a good deal of the night. It just was so damn appropriate.
DEKEMBE - Nothing but good things come to mind when I see or hear his name. He was more than a basketball player and yes he was the soul to this team. Nothing but best wishes go out to him. LET'S GO ROCKETS!!!!!
Thanks for all the great memories Deke!! all throughout your career, not just as a member of the Houston Rockets.. if there was a hall of fame for Life, you know you'll be a shoe-in!!
really sad sad day. felt this way when barkley injured his knee playing for the Rockets. the team should now win for Deke. lets make some noise in this playoffs. we got nothing to lose anyway
Deke's article on sina blog Dear fans, I know that each one of you were waked by the sad new of my injury during the 2 th game between the Houston Rockets and the Portland Blazers. I got hurt as soon as I entered the game. I felt on my back while I was trying to avoid Greg Odom. We do not know yet how bad is until I go back to Houston for more text.. I am sorry that I had to leave the game like that. I will write more after the MRI in Houston. Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry
i hate the feeling how deke went down, most likely career ending, and he's the one who said sorry to us all.
Painful stuff to watch when it unfolded, but even sadder to see such a damn good human being have a career come to an end. As others have said, Deke you were a wonderful part of the Rockets and brought that passion for the game night in and night out. More importantly, you did what other basketball players feel "obligated" to do in helping others and caring so much about the welfare of others. You did something that many of us try to do every day in making the world a better place. Thanks for everything Deke.
he also said he would be at the sideline thru out the championship run to cheer the team on. now that's heart. where is tmac
