same to you bro, many of us are not sure what YOU are talking about. but yeah, no clue what that guy is talking about either...wells what??!
If Deke had played for Yao in the playoffs we would have averaged 55 points a game against the Jazz and been swept.
Also from that link: Far cry from what he initially reported when they were traded for. He glossed it over as Morey targetting those players.
From what I saw in Deke's minutes vs. Utah, Deke wasn't any better at guarding Boozer than Yao was (no suprising, Boozer was just quicker than the two big centers) and he wasn't giving the team anything offensively. Deke also wasn't going to guard the Okur at the 3 pt line. The Juwan/Chuck frontline was more effective as a matchup for Boozer/Okur, that's why Juwan got a lot of the minutes at the 5. Morey said he wanted these players at the time... which I guess is technically true. You can say he wanted them as in he didn't hate them enough to not take on the contracts. In any case, about these two guys... I'm guessing the Rockets might pay another team to take them off their hands for nothing later on if tax is an issue still.
truely an insult to an nba great... he still has the ability to reboud and block shots... no he isnt the 4 time defensive player of the year that he used to be but he still deserves more than the minimum
Feigan says the Rockets are over the tax limit. Given the rules, if the Rockets offer him the $1.2 million or so veteran minimum, the league will pick up all but about $750 K... and alll but about $750K will count toward the team salary. Meaning the Rockets out pocket cost on Mutombo would be about $1.5 million (750K + 750K tax). If the Rockets were to offer even one single dollar over the veteran minimum... then all of the salary count toward the team salary and the Rockets out of pocket expenes is more than $2.4 million. Now, if they were to offer, say, $2 million for Deke, then they are paying $4 million total. I think for $1.5 million, it's a no brainer to bring Deke back... but is ist worth it for this team (or the Celtics, fellow tax payer) to pay $4 million or more?
hmm... low ball deke so he choses not to resign. he looks like the bad one while the rockets save face. rafer can then get traded for another big guy and morey looks like a wizard again. it's all coming together...
His family would get pissed if he did that. He turned his blog over to Fran. But when I wrote originally that I had an idea of who it was, I thought Jonathan. I asked him the same question I asked DennisCD, and they both answered pretty much the same thing.
ok, I love Deke, but the vet min is fair. Lets say he does sign with another team, u think Yao cant handle him?? people are making it seem like we dont already have one of if not the best centers in the league.
I hope we can sign him, because Dikembe is good mentor,player-coach and person. His maturity makes him one of the most respected players in NBA.And if he doesn't sign with the Rockets he will retire.
that genius van gundy barely put him in the games. (which cost us game 7) when he did, he did what he does, rebounded and played great D.
