when you get caught speeding, you can opt to pay money for deferred judification to keep the ticket off your record, while you are pretty much on probation and can't get another ticket. i know someone who was on deferred judification in a city between dallas and houston, and now just got another ticket, but in a different city, more near dallas. i remember hearing something about not getting a ticket in that same city/county. is this true? or is it you cannot get another ticket anywhere? is there a way to clear this second ticket, using judification as well? she's been doing a lot of long distance driving from dallas to houston and i guess got caught unlucky a couple times... any help would be appreciated.
Well the ticket is not on his record just yet....fight the ticket and postpone the court date. Most probably, time will pass and his probation will be up before the second ticket gets to court. Then he can handle it however he wants to.
i was thinking about this, but wouldn't the court recognize that the date on the ticket was within the timeline of the first probation period?
totally depends. Every court is different with the length of the probation and where it applies. Some are the whole state and 6 months, some are 2 weeks and just that county, and lots of other combinations.. so you need to find out from the original court. Your friend apparently didn't write down the terms..
Isn't it...defered adjudication? Just do it...stay clear for 6 months and the slate is whiped clean...uh...so I heard. DD
You can't get the ticket in the jurisdiction of the court that allowed you the differed adjudication in the first place. I think your friend is safe if he got it in a different county.
not always true. i've had deferred adjudication in one court that said "anywhere in Texas" for their probation
