HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH GREAT Thread!!!! When I opened the post and saw the poll, I was like "Crap, opened another troll thread"... scroll.. scroll... "Best Thread ever!!!" LOOL!
Looking at this again, it is clearly brilliant defense. His intent is to mislead the shooter as to the actual location of the basket, and was able to do this with almost zero energy expenditure. It's the sort of innovation you can't be sure of without a large enough sample size, so I expect to see more of it as time goes on.
On that play, shouldn't the guy guarding the screen setter rotate? Also, the guy guarding Asik was setting a movign screen.
probably shouldve called the switch with delf3 i think? but the problem was by the time he even realised that beal was gone he already had an open 3.
I think Bargnani was trying to cut off the passing lane to Ginobili (at least I hope so), and he just got caught in the middle of nowhere. Then he jumped for no reason.
To be fair, he actually made an effort. A big center has no business guarding a quick guy like that. He's just caught in a mismatch.
Gasol knew that Griffin was playing with a yellow card and wanted him to get a second, this is why he signaled to the referee for the obvious handball. Once Griffin gets his second yellow, the Lakers would be able to exploit the Clippers with a 5:4 man advantage throughout the rest of the second half and extra time. Hopefully then Steve Blake would be able to score the winner on a set piece like he did against Houston. Or at worst, they park the bus in front of the net and settle for the draw and 1 point. Either way, a calculated risk by Gasol.
TEARS! Cannot Stop Laughing At Gasol On Blake. That .gif needs to go viral. I didn't know there was a defensive move called the doggy-paddle.
